A really good game with good sounds and art, I like how you have to reload, but it was difficult for me, and I seemed to only get one shot after reloading. I couldn't last that long as there was too many but it felt fair and got to choose a powerup which I think penetrates 1 enemy. I think it is worth working on it, what you have made so far is amazing.

Thank you for playing! You have to press right click for each bullet to reload but the tutorial is pretty bad so it doesnt explain it to the player, that has to be improved.

Glad you enjoyed it!

It’s already a fun game but it’s clear that you had planned much more for it that didn’t make it in time. I like the art and the idea behind it with the manual reloading which can lead to some extra tension. Shooting with spacebar in this type of game feels very alien to me, I hope you change that in a later update. Great entry.

thank you for playing! Time really was too short haha but i'll keep working on it. would you prefer mouse click? space was to make it a bit different than usual but its a fair point.

IMO controls are an area where you should have a very good reasons to do something different than the norm. The more established that norm is the bigger your reason would need to be to change it.

The game is really nice, thought I had the same issue as Samuel.
Set itch.io game page to have the option for full screen, because quite often moving the mouse around I clicked outside the game and I died.

The reloading system is nice, that remind me the First Person Shooter template I did, that reload rolling the mouse wheel up. I wouldn't have though the R button to reload. Right mouse click the first time to open the barrel, then right click again to put bullets as you have now. It will be easier for the brain to focus more on the game. Left hand only moves, right hand does all the gun work (aim, shoot and reload).

I liked the power up options I saw so far, though some sounds fair better than others, so the choice was "compulsory".

Definitely a game that you should complete and made it a commercial product.

Glad you liked it!

Thanks for the great feedback on improvements. I will checkout the fps template! The reason i split it up was to make it more intricate and more involved since that was the main gimmick, but its worth exploring options for sure.

Yeah, I would if you can add an option to custom the input, that would solve the problem too. So every player can adjust the input as they want.

I just realised that I sell the template here on itch.io, but I don't have the demo of my FPS on Rails here.
Try it in the Scirra Arcade:
https://www.construct.net/en/free-online-games/test-demo-fps-rails-template-4963...

Go full screen before playing, otherwise you will have issues with the mouse.

To reload a single bullet for gun and rifle, move the wheel of the mouse up and down to imitate the real life hand movement.

I actually quite like the weapon mechanics, adds more intensity to the gameplay. Also love the revolver is half the size of my guy XD

haha thanks for playing! Glad you liked the gimmick :)

Nice art, visuals and suspenseful music.
I wouldn't have chosen this weapon loading system, it's too complicated.

Thanks for playing :)

sorry it didnt click with you, wanted something different gameplay wise.

literally wouldn’t work on my browser (chrome on a fast m2 mac). haven’t given it scores because of this. couldn’t even press space to play.

Developer

No idea, it works for most people. Didnt even work when you click on the frame?

got it to play the next times, although had to refresh it at the end of each game to play again. weird.

really neat execution tho. good feedback when you shoot etc. found it hard to control with mouse and keyboard, but thats because im old :-)

Interesting addition to the top-down-shooter / vampire-survivor formula with the reloading mechanic. I feel it's held back by a lack of polish of some parts, for example there is barely and feedback if the player gets hit, so death were sometimes surprising.

Developer

Thank you for playing :)
Yes you're completely right. But if you found it fun it might be worth continuing on. Adding different guns each with their own reload gimmick etc.

The manual reload mechanics add a unique twist to the gameplay yet sometimes is buggy is worth working on

Developer

Thank you for playing :) Glad you had fun.

Crispy visuals and solid effort with the mechanics!

Thank you for playing and glad you liked it :)

Great game! I love how much of the strategy revolves around reloading, and having the dead bodies stay on the floor is a satisfying touch.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you liked the reloading gimmick, i tried to do something different in the genre.

feels a little off at times but it has so much promise. good job!

thanks for playing! Agree it's very unpolished but glad you liked it!
