Solid atmosphere and maze. I thought it was a nice touch that the goal was written in blood at your feet.
The gun had a nice chunky firing sound, but it didn't feel like it did anything to the enemies. Some additional feedback on the hp of enemies and myself would be helpful.
Eventually, all the enemies had gathered around me and it was impossible to escape, which is horrifying in its own way
I liked the flashlight illumination. It made the rooms feel more menacing. I could not hurt the big monsters, the gun was firing to a different location compared to the aiming icon. Also the big monster couldn't hurt me so that didn't matter as much.
Nice work! Great lighting, one thing I would suggest is just giving the player some visual feedback when you damage the enemy, knowing your health would be handy too. Some additions to the environment so you know where you are and where you have already been would be very helpful to the player too.
The animations and responsiveness was fantastic, the lighting worked really well to, I would have liked more feedback on enemy deaths and a bit more direction.
I really liked the visuals and the animation felt super smooth and responsive. I do however feel like it could benefit from more visual and audio feedback. It was hard to tell what happened during the respawn. shooting enemies felt like wasn't working cause the bullet would pass through till the enemy dies. Having some visual effects and sound effects would really lift the game.
I destroyed two hearts. This reminded me of other similar games, it was very nostalgic in a way. I think I lacked communication about what’s happening with respawns, are the hearts still destroyed or this is a full restart and I need to get one? Also the level is big, so I was afraid to spend too much time searching for the hearts without a map or something that could help me. I really liked the theme and the flashlight, the overall mechanics is really great! Thank you!
Can you not shoot the enemies also?
