I love that you ran with the alliteration of Pickaxe Pete and used alliterations in other names and dialogue. And that you turned the boulders from the original into an enemy with a face.

I leveled my characters up to level 5 and wanted to buy them the best equipment! I got Pickaxe Pete an upgraded pickaxe and a tshirt, but I couldn't put equipment on Larry for some reason.

I also found mashing z to be the best strategy. It's easy to see where there's a lot that could be added, but well done for the limited amount of time we had!

The equipment thing does sound like a weird bug. I have an idea of why that might be happening though. Definitely plan on fixing that along with a few other issues.

IMHO a very different take on the original game, and nicely done. The witty dialog made me giggle, well done!

Enjoyed the jokes. The game engine could possibly do with a bit of streamlining for the user. It's not my cup of tea as a game mechanic so I just mashed Z till it was over! Is there anything after the shop?

Thanks for the feedback! There's definitely plenty of room for improvement. Didn't have time to get anything after the shop in before the deadline, but I have a lot more content planned. Also didn't have time to put in any special moves or anything to help things be less monotonous.
