Nice game! The arc on the spears take a bit to get used to, but I think that just adds a little challenge. I liked the level editor. Some undo/redo shortcuts would be nice, but that’s not really a problem. I figured out you kind of need to wall the bats in if you want them to stick to a certain area, but really I wouldn’t know a better way to handle that. I also liked that you kept the armor flying off on hit from the original, which I always thought was pretty funny.
Ohh yeah, I never got around to adding keyboard shortcuts. T'would have been a twenty second change, oh well. Thanks for playing!
Funny you mention the armor. There's an easter egg with that that it seems no one has found yet.
A fun little game that fits the theme quite well. Haven't played Ghosts and Gobins, but looking at youtube playthroughs I can see the resemblance.
The main level feels a bit unbalanced. Maybe make it so that the zombies spawn a bit faster? Now I could simply just skip all of them to get to the boss, which took a big difficulty leap. Took a while to beat the level and I was tempted to simply say that the boss was too difficult. Now I'm more inclined to say that the first part of the level was too easy xD
Would have been nice with another level!
The level editor was a really cool feature. The bats seem to fly out of bounds though, and there don't seem to be a way to quit to main menu from the editor.
Thanks! I'll have to tweak the zombies. Another idea I had was having them respawn. And bats just fly straight, they're a very one-time enemy. I didn't get around to it, but I wanted to change them to swoop down and chase you like the flying demon things in the original game (which I haven't really played either).
You actually can exit the editor. Just open the menu (the "..." button) and there's an option to quit. Perhaps it was too dark to see it's a separate button from "Copy Code".
This is pretty dang cool! I haven't played GnG, so dunno if there's anything missing on that count. But everything works well, except the bat disappeared when I added to a later part of the level - maybe it fell off a ledge or something, but it looked really amusing. The only issue I found was that it took me a while to work out how to scroll the view along in the editor, because I couldn't see the slider background.
Thanks for playing! That’s odd, bats fly, so they shouldn’t fall anywhere.
And yeah, Godot’s default UI theme is kinda too dark against the black background, I should have changed it. You can also scroll with the scroll wheel / touchpad gestures, if your device supports it.
