Cute, but does feel incomplete. Explored a ton of levels and got torches, eventually died to starvation when not accidentally entering the OP ghosts that kill you quickly.

I guess enemies were supposed to move, as is you've got no reason to fight them. Also the life bar of the player is not displayed properly so combat is hard to deal with anyway.

The music is catchy. The visual and atmosphere are nice enough. I'm happy you went for instant movement and movement feels good enough but I wish the key would not start repeating that fast, it starts repeating so fast that sometimes I move twice when pressing a button. I generally like hunger pressure and I like it here too.

I'm generally not a fan of progression between runs and from the little we can see of the envisioned game I don't like it here.

Thanks for sharing.

I made it to floor 25 before succumbing to starvation. While everything is pretty basic and combat can willfully be ignored, the final areas I got to ended up being a desperate search for fruit to keep going. Each step was careful to count towards either getting to a fruit or getting to the next floor.  This balance of moving and losing health and getting fruit ended up being quite fun, if it was even intended.

I think there was a lot of potential here and with some more development could be really fun.

An interesting start to a game. It feels like there were some really good ideas that just never quite made it to the final submission.

You can watch my full play through here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2114770109?t=02h04m01s

that melody gets into your head and stays there... :)

It becomes more of an infinite collecting of torches and finding stairs. The enemies seems stationary and you can just choose not to walk up to them. Is there an ending to the game?

I got to the torch buy screen several times during my play without dying, but could not buy  anything yet cause the torches were not quantified. When Finally dying the ui broke so I could still fight the enemy as dead, but not exit the menu.

Its a roguelite with meta-progression. I honestly haven't noticed this aspect of the game immediately, you have to put it into the description or something.

Battle system is just broken, monsters don't dissapear on death and also don't do any visible damage to the player.

But you can still die to them, so I guess HP of the player is properly tracked and updated, it's just the visual display that is bugged?

It is hard to move just to the adjacent square, you have to tap the key fairly fast to do it. Which makes the movement hard to control precisely.

random dungeon generation is fine and works. Music is a little bit repetitive for me, but its just a personal preference

It just works/5

A bit too basic for my liking, but it works, has nice graphics and music. I think the battle system needs the most work.

The password issue seems to be fixed now. I liked the music and the models made. The multi-floor generation was also a really cool idea. I had some issues with enemies not despawning after they are killed. Also at one point I got stuck in the attack menu and it would not let me leave. I also wasn't sure what the torch count did, is that the flame points? Overall I thought the game was a cool entry!

Password or not published so can't play it. But how can 2 people have rated it so far....? Something is fishy.

Submitted

Can't play it yet as it's passworded, hopefully that changes!

Hopefully you can sort out the password requirement. Maybe chat with the mods on Discord to see if they'll let you sbumit it now. Might be too late though.

Hey, just FYI You haven't actually published your game so it's impossible to download/play and review it.
You have to make your game page 'public' on the 'edit game' page
