The spirit thanked me and set me free. Twice as I did a second loop because why not.

I enjoyed the game. The visuals (environments, enemies, UI) are all super cool and engaging, the view is perfect, instant movement is great and the gameplay loop works. The first times I defended I took the damage anyway so it took me some time to try again and realise the command is actually pretty strong, I got some defense potions in the meantime which probably made the difference. One thing I absolutely love is that pressing 'W' activates the first command in menus, I should remember this for when you generally want to use the first command in menus.

This is a cool game, thanks for sharing.

y'know after just reading the controls before playing the game I wasn't sure I would like the movement controls pulling double duty in combat, but actually it felt very natural to just keep using the same keys. The "afterlife" section is a cool mechanic; when I first died I just assumed "whelp time to restart the game" and then it kept going.

I'd be curious on a poll of how many people prefer snap movement (like this game) to smoothly sliding to the next grid space (like my game)

The graphics and grid movement are great. I like the creatures too. I didn't really get much in the way of loot except a few items to boosted my stats (perhaps that is the loot). It was really hard at first until I realized you could actually spend your coins on stat buffs, so that simplified the already simple combat further and I was able to finish the game.

Short lived, but I think if it got some more features (spells, attack abilities?) it could go from good to great.

Very nice. I liked the general theme and implementation. The graphics are a bit simple and can get repetitive. I liked the simple combat, but there didn't feel a good progression. I would have liked to seen more variety of places. as it can be disorientating after a while. but nice entry ;)

Solid entry. Battle system is simple and understandable, roguelite loop gives you a lot of room to breathe and retry again if you died. I think adding more ways to affect your stats and harder enemies would make battle system more interesting.

I love the homemade-looking drawings (something I also did), and the music, and the refreshing outdoor town environment. Combat was simple but very satisfying due to the sounds and animation.

Yes, I drank all potions and disturbed anything I found. 😊 This is one of the few games that I beat. A really great entry.

Nice game to play even though it isn't really much of a dungeon crawler. It was fun leveling up the stats and I liked the fast pace of the combat. I don't think the game is to hard, it is just meant to be played more like a rogue-like with saved stats.

Fun graphics and snappy movement, thats good! The battles feel nice, but the game seems to be quite hard. Maybe tone down the enemy damage a bit, as I died quite a few times. Solid entry!

Nice story and atmosphere.  Handrawn enemies look pretty good, though the same enemy appears over and over again. I like the simple but clean battle system. Transition to battle screen is nice too but there's too much random enemy encounters, it made me stop playing the game after dying for the 5th time.  It is hard to figure out where you go in the labyrinthian map design, when you add the very frequent random enemy encounters to that, game becomes very tiresome in my opinion.  Nevertheless it's a pretty solid game. Nice job!

Played this for a bit longer than I should have, haha, just getting more and more upgrades until oneshotting or twoshotting some of the mobs. Which totally means I had fun! Sometimes encounters feel a bit too frequent and I wish the animations could be made faster, but nice roguelike concept with super straightforward gameplay. Good job!

Good job! loved the atmosphere and great combat system

Honestly, overloading all of the combat and commands to WASD is really smart, kudos for that.

The rift monsters are cool! I enjoyed the snappy movement, but wished that the random encounters were equally snappy. I wonder if the the combat would benefit from the ability to animation cancel, or progress without waiting for the enemy's animation to complete every turn?

I also loved how all of the controls were on WASD. All the control choices felt quite natural.

I really like the way the city was build. Using instant steps instead of animated transisions also makes movement snappy and less error prone. I did miss the ability to strafe but it not a big issue as your game interrupts game play with very frequent random encounters. They are to frequent for my taste. A solid entry none the less.
