Very polished! I like the humor, the mom character reminds me of Morticia Addams. The pixel art character animations in the pizzeria are very cute.
I can’t think of anything that I’d say should be improved gameplay-wise, unfortunately I didn’t get to play very much of it because I’m bad at this kind of game.
And thanks a lot for the stream too! The heal takes a moment to happen (as you said, the animation has to play out first). We are still finessing the teach as it is a lot of mechanics being taught in a short amount of time, but watching you play helps a bunch to see where we can improve. And yeah we've been working on it on the side of our regular jobs for about 2 and a half years now. Looking to have a solid vertical slice in a couple months.
Played a good amount and its pretty fun. Visuals are spot on as well as audio. Dialogue is nice. Controls will take a bit of getting used to, switching from character to carriage.
One thing I will note is that, if the level ends while you're inside the carriage, you'll endlessly scroll through the level with no enemies. May have to add a message to tell people to get out of the carriage to continue to the next level, as I thought more enemies would come for a while before getting out.
Also, having the player bullets get blocked by the building walls felt a bit bad to me, since I have to wait for them to be super close to get rid of them sometimes. I can't recall if bat shots could go through walls, unlike mine.
Thanks for the feedback! The teach of the controls is quite complex, we are still refining it. And that's a good point about ending the level while inside the carriage, we will probably just eject the player out automatically. Thanks for mentioning it! I'm not sure what you mean about the buildings blocking your bullets though, would you mind clarifying that for me?

Thanks again for playing ❤
game feels solid over all with great art but with some issues
1.cannonballs from the cart gets stopped by a single bat which feels bad
2.there is no health bar or anything that can tell me whats going on in the boss fight to provide progress
3.player sprite gets locked to the firing stance in the town area(i think)
Thank you for playing and thanks for the feedback!
