Really creative gameplay and I think the mixing of Breakout and Gauntlet works surprisingly well! Who would have thought? :) It really adds a lot, because you can't fully control the trajectory of the projectiles and this uncertainty adds fun and excitement, in my opinion. Great job!

Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed this concept :)

i personally love the absurdity of this. it's actually surprisingly (?) a lot of fun and having followed you building this i can't help but crack up when playing it. i do genuinely think you have something here, so i would love to see you build off this. maybe incorporate one more game into it right?

Oh I think I'll add uhhhh another game. hmmmmmmm but what? clearly I need to make a zelda like puzzle section and then add that?
and add gear and leveling and a hub world

yes. but don't forget the racing game element. that one is what really seals the deal.

oh for sure, I'll use the mode7 lib and really add to this

Nice and clever, thanks :)

This is, surprisingly, both a guantlet game and a breakout game.   Kudos!

It’s fascinating how the simple idea shooting a limited amount of breakout-style bouncing balls completely changes the genre from arcade shooter into something almost like a puzzle game.

I realize the idea came out of a… lack of other ideas, but I daresay it worked out even better than the author might have hoped, and turned into something quite fresh & fun

Developer

A lack of ideas OR refusal to let go of the other potential jam title. We'll never know...

Cool idea to mix the game jam theme (Breakout) with Gauntlet ;P lol

What can I say? It's flawless in every way. Nothing appears to be weird or strange or cursed or haunted. I like the way the bullets intentionally pass through walls and deliberately bounce back at impossible angles. Nice design choices.
