Hmm, I downloaded the RTP to try this out, but once a battle was supposed to start, I got an error saying the easter bunny asset was missing. I haven't used RPG Maker in quite a while, but I believe you have an option to pack all of the files with your installer.

What I was able to play seemed great though. Good job!

Developer

Odd. Let me see what the file does on my computer. Maybe I need to upload the Easter Bunny asset separately, since it's not from the RTP.

Developer

I just downloaded it to my computer and the EB asset does some up in the first battle, though I added it into the battlers in my RTP. The jam still has 1 day and a few hours left, so for now, I am going to add the EB as an image to the description, so players can add it to the Battler folder of their RTP package. Hopefully I can figure out a more efficient export by the end of the jam.

Shared the image to the game page, but unfortunately when you right click to download, it changes the name and file format, so after downloading, change name to "00-rabbit.png". Looking forward to fixing this properly when files are unlocked.

I have the error RGSS-RTP Standard not found, is a shame it looked really good in the pics

Developer

A lot of people have had that issue. If you don't have RPG Maker XP, you need to go to their website to install their RTP/run-time package. I did add this to the description and download instructions, though a lot of people keep missing it. Maybe I'll add the error name to the jam page.

Is there a trick to opening the game? I downloaded it, extracted it and clicked on the game application but I got the error "RGSS-RTP Standard not found"

Developer

I am sorry this happened to you too. In a rush, so pasting my response to Enzed. I am going to add these instructions to the game and jam page.

That does happen with older versions of RPG Maker. Fortunately, their website allows anyone to download the RTP/run-time package for free. Go here, scroll down to the Download button and choose XP. (VX Ace is selected by default, so make sure to change it to XP.) Follow the install directions and the game should work -- I've had to do this for myself for other versions and it's worked for me.

OW the only game I see here that is made with RPGMaker!! My Congratulations!!!

Developer

Thanks. I got XP when it was free last month. I hope you were able to get past the robots, since as I have iterated, I made them a bit OP, especially compared to the Easter Bunny ^__^

Developer (1 edit)

Important: I did not get to play test the battles as much as I would have liked and just realized the Easter Bunny dies really easily. I'd give him some more def points and add some revives, but I can't edit the game until the jam is over and the only way to trigger the ending is to kill at least 6 of the 7 enemies. In the meantime, to make EB as strong as possible, go to the upper left corner of the cave -- there's a leather vest in one of the chests. There's also a thin vest right by the entrance, but that does not make much difference.  Also be aware I forgot to add mana potions, so once they're out of MP, you can't get it back :(.

My thanks to anyone who plays this during the jam. I am working on a post-jam version that should be much less brutal.
