I don't think I worked out the puzzle, but I think I somehow managed to "solve" it when I accidentally left a word out of my response. Unless there's something I'm missing here? I wish there was some way to put what I did under a spoiler, but I think I'm misunderstanding the required syntax to solve this puzzle somehow.

Developer

Oh, I'm interested in that accidental resolution.

You can send me a message through IntFiction, or use rot13.com to write non spoilery words :) Thanks!

I agree the atmosphere is very creepy. I've been unable to discover the solution to what the ragman wants so far.

Developer

Ok, let me give you a hint, in ROT13.com

Everything else is red herring and ambiance.

Thank you for the hint. I've worked it out.

I've tried it a few times now, but I've unfortunately failed to solve it. I love the atmosphere, the premise and Ragman's character all on its own, though. Very neat. Nice cover art, too. My one suggestion would be to maybe extend the size of the screen on the page, or just make the game fullscreen automatically. As it is now, the scrollbar is a bit distracting.

Developer

Well, you can use the Fullscreen button, or download the zcode to use an interpreter.

Anyway, do you want hints?

The writing in this–and the setup–is quite creepy. Especially for such a short game, I thought that aspect was very effective.

A couple of notes:

  • I found the possible reference to Monty Python in the failure ending a little off in tone. Or maybe I’m imagining it as a reference?
  • I did notice a few typos and grammatical oddities, so another round of revision might be helpful. These didn’t detract from my enjoyment of trying to figure out the puzzle, though.

Nop, there's no reference to Monty Python in the ending :P sorry.

About the typos... that is weird, because the whole translation was done using an app called Grammarly, and that practically prevents for any typos. Oddities... probably some. Would you mind to send  all those (if you got to save them) to my email? rubereaglenest at gmail dot com Thanks!

I'm glad the game worked for you! Thanks.
