Ahh this was such a delicious experience! I had a little hunch about the poem inspiration based on the quoted lines at the beginning of each POV, and when I hit the end scene of Emilia's section, I literally had to get up and take a little walk about the room to calm my poetry nerd heart. This was such a wonderful game (and that tagline! feels like it's smirking at me post-play in the best way).

Whenever I think of a poetry nerd playing it, and tweaking to the poem at some point in it, it makes me happy.  Thanks so much for the kind comment!

I can see why this game received so many ratings. It is an excellent game. I love the narrative.

Interesting concept and well written. I am grateful for the map and walk through (cause I was stuck). I really enjoyed Emilia's dialog and attitude towards the poor little duchess. This has inspired me to find a good poem and build a game around it. Maybe this could be a new comp?  And NOW I have plans for the weekend - headed up to the North Carolina Museum of Art to spy that painting. Good work!

Thanks! I LOVE your avatar. I want to be Carol when I grow up.

I'm so glad you liked it-- and yes, a poem-inspired comp is a fantastic idea. I'm really envious that you're close enough to the museum to go see the painting!

The painting is stunning! The sidebar states she died from tuberculosis, but we know the truth!

AAAHHHH so jealous of you! It is amazing how many centuries rumors can persist. Even though most historians agree that the Duke didn't murder her, I guess Browning's story will always continue to reign supreme. Either way, poor little Lucrezia. I hope she had a happier life than the one I wrote for her.
