Hey, I was wondering if I can showcase your game in a youtube video because it scored #1 in Text usage? You will be credit however you like, just reply with your social media or something else.

Yeah of course! Really the only thing I'd ask you to credit is my itch, so just @toadletgames. Thanks!

I really like this game. The tutorial does a great job at showing how to play, and all the buildings and signs look great. I love the mechanic of meowing at people to get them to talk and use their words as platforms. Really creative. And the Mice are great for replayability. Can't wait to see this get expanded in the future. Great Job!

The game is really nice, but I didn’t really like how blurry the text is Also I just don’t think a TTS voice would fit such a cute cat, though it’s a nice touch.

The collisions are a bit janky, sometimes if you bonk into something with holding a direction you move the other way, so it was a bit tough trying to climb to the clouds after already falling down.

But overall, its a really nice game, the concept is fun, the execution is nice, text usage is pretty good. I would love to see this get expanded into a full-game.

Thanks for the feedback and playing my game!

The blurry text for the sprites is definitely something I'll be working to fix in the future, a lot ended up losing quality in their journey from Google Docs to a photo editor to remove the white background to Unity. The TTS was also just a little idea I found funny with the theme of everything being text, but could change in the future. And that collision problem... yeah. I'm still not sure exactly what's causing it but when I have the time to expand this game I'll definitely be working on figuring that out.

Interesting game :)

The beggining reminded me of Vimlark's game with the Only text restriction (youtube video to devlog). I thought it would keek in the same spirit, but it ended up being a platformer :)

The characters were nice, especially the people in town. You can feel their personality! Maybe when you expand the game (as you hinted on the end screen) you could find a way to make Ascii show some more personality also.

Great job, congratulations!

Thanks for playing my game!

I've never seen Vimlark's work before, but his text only game looks really neat! Having the words be built as you go wasn't really a concept I'd considered before but it's definitely a cool mechanic. Thanks for leaving the devlog link ^^

Also I'm glad you liked the npcs! I'd definitely want to add more personality to the game overall when I've got the time to look at it again, but I'm especially looking forward to finding ways to give Ascii some personality of their own :)
