Thanks for all the feedback. Next version should address most of the issues everyone raised :)

Jam Host

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 6! My name's Hythrain, and I'm one of the hosts and streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live on my stream.

While this a fun idea that looks amazing and has great audio, the controls for computer are just awful. I assume that with touch controls, you touch the block you want to move and it just moves. The same should be for computer but with the mouse. Keyboard controls are just atrocious for this sort of game when you're timed on it. That's the only thing I can see that needs to be done.

I really like the style of this game. My only suggestion is that I would've played more if I wasn't so terrible at it. Maybe an easy mode for slow people like me XD;;?

Developer

Thank you playing and the feedback. I'm hoping the next iteration will have an easier start and a more sensible difficulty curve!

Tested on PC, so maybe that was the reason but I didnt know I could use the arrow keys at first, so I wasnt sure how to control. Once I got that I got into it very quickly :) I love "15 puzzle"s so it was very intuitive for me what to do :)

Thank you for playing.  For some this is really easy and intuitive, and others find it really hard. Finding the right balance has been a challenge, and one of the main reasons for joining this jam!

A simple but great dungeon crawler. The art gives me some major retro vibes in a good way too. The biggest feedback I would have is that the game seems a bit tough even from the word go. But otherwise, it's a fun little game and fantastic job for your first attempt at a mobile game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind comments. Whilst it has semblance of a dungeon crawler, it really is just cosmetic at this stage. I think an actual dungeon crawler where you can explore, and using this puzzle mechanic for enemy encounters could work really well!

the game is pretty fun and I love the art style, only complaint I have is that the shop feels pretty useless right now, or at least it could be more interesting, you could add a couple more items and have each shop a random selection of them or make it so items can be randomly discounted

aside from that the game is great

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Yes, fully agree on the shop. To be honest, it was a bit of an after thought as I was concentrating more on the puzzle/battle aspect. Then I realised having items/equipment could make it more interesting, and make it have more 'RPG' feel.

It was rushed and somewhat clumsily put together, but I'm glad it's there to show the potential. Definitely hope to develop that aspect more.

I am not surviving for long in this, but I am getting the intention here.

I am really digging this song and art style, really feels like that game loop hero, a game I played for infinite amount of hours.

I do feel it is like a mobile battle focused loop hero, great idea for a game.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated. I've never heard of loop hero, so I will check it out :)

I really like this game but it's just so hard that I can barely get to a point where I can buy things from the shop.

-The first time you can access the shop it seems to be impossible to have enough money to buy anything, I used it as a chance to catch my breath which was also nice but maybe a cheap item you could buy would be a good addition?

-I might be bad at the game but I lost a life almost every single time the two colours I needed were on opposite corners, I do think some extra time (just a little bit) would be nice. The extra time could be active just for the first few levels/fights so you can keep the challenge of the current game.

-Art and UI were great :)

Thank you - this is really good to hear. I genuinely had a fear that this would become too easy, and now I unintentionally made it too hard! I'll look at tweaking the difficulty (more time, increase gold drops, cheaper items etc). Thanks again

A game where you survive 3 enemy turns max.

I liked this game! Gives me an Undertale / Downwell kind of energy!

- Very easy to get started as the directions and concept is very straight forward, and UI helps with telling what is going on!
- In terms of sound and overall visuals I think this game is very good as well!
- I think though the game is a bit on the hard side (at least playing the game on the computer).  Maybe increase the time needed to finish a puzzle or have time stack if you complete puzzles fast enough?
- I also did not know when a battle encounter would end as well, and that is information personally I would have liked to know. Maybe insert somewhere amount of puzzles / enemies left needed to defeat?

Other than that great game and best of luck to your game development :)

Thank you. I had trouble gauging the difficulty, so hearing about your experiences is really good- I know the game (at least, in its current state) can get repetitive quickly, so I notched up the difficulty on purpose. If I start doing more to it (more shop items, more types of obstacles etc) then I'll tone it down.

I did have a wave/round counter display on the screen at first but then removed it. I think I will bring it back next time.
