Let people know how long this project has been going, or share a bit of its history.
I was reading Derek Yu's Spelunky book, and he mentioned the original version was written in Gamemaker, and back in November I thought I'd check it out.

So Inertia is the result, my first game, less that 2 month later!

I got the controls working pretty quickly and was happy with the feel of steering the ship, and slowly added more features.

The FFS jam gave me the incentive to finish it, it was mostly creating levels which took up a lot of time. Adding 'water' was a bit of a game changer and made it a lot more fun.

I still have a few ideas of feature to add (I couldn't get black holes to be fun, but maybe one day...) so will continue to build on it.
Sorry it's browser and Windows only, maybe one day I'll get it onto Android.

Nice game, love the idea. I think it just needs some tweaks. Flasher art that pumped up the aesthetic would help, as would some nice music. The sounds can be a bit harsh, maybe have some controls to tone that down. Overall, love the game. It's rare to find a game where you can feel the mechanics. Great job!

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! I could do with revisiting the art and sound and making it a bit more polished. I've just started on my second game and already it's easier on the eye!

I'll be sure to check your entry out when I get back to my PC!

Awesome Game!!!

Love it! Such a interesting Game and the Mechanics are good.

Visual Appearance could be better but i think its totally fine for this Game.

Audio, some nice Ambience Music would be great.

had some hard Trouble in Level 2:1, this small Gap you have to Fly in is realllllllly hard!

Developer

Thanks, really appreciate you checking it out! Hopefully my next game will be a bit more polished graphically. I'll check out your games when I'm back at my PC!

Neat game, I found it quite hard but it was good once I got the hang of it. I wonder how it'd look if the ship's rotation was static and instead the world rotated around it. At first I thought we had made and submitted the same game when I saw those blue/green platforms surrounding your levels haha!

Developer

thanks skeldoor, I was thinking about having the camera rotate in my next game! I'll take a look at your game when I finish work.

Really nice mechanics! Fun to play :)

I would enjoy this game better with a difficulty slider.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Interesting idea, what do you think would make it easier, reducing the speed, or having a shield so you can hit the walls a few times before exploding?

I was thinking of a speed slider.
