I spent a good amount of time reading the game (can I call it that?), now that I stopped to write the analysis I find myself at a loss for words to describe everything I felt. So I feel like I can sum it up in a single word: Facinating.
Thank you.
What a great response! Thanks a lot, I'm glad that I could evoke such feelings with my text :).
I go gladly with game!
My thoughts essentially mirror those of @AbNormalHumanBeing and @yo252yo. Very neat project and some interesting reads for sure. When I got to "towns"/"The visible cities" I noticed the text about anyone being able to edit, and dug into that a bit, seems like a very cool idea!
The engine, Incoanhyto, is an attempt to allow true intertextuality - beside "Fluid Worlds", there are some other stories already available that I tried to link in my text :). New stories and additions are most welcome, just try it! (its free, libre, and strictly noncommercial) =)
it feels like a pretty ambitious undertaking, i feel like it's trying to represent Everything. I like that it starts with I. It's a really good use of hypertext fiction to represent an interconected web of influences
Thank you :).
It is indeed a bit ambitious, and I somewhat struggled with it at times and did various changes and revisions. Eventually I came to the point where I thought it was as good as I could make it, and I'm somewhat satisfied with the result. Glad that you liked it!
This is really amazing to click through. Now, for me as a purely personal perspective, it is maybe at times a bit too esoteric in style and presentation - but that will be different for other people. And even with this matter of taste, I cannot deny the value of the ideas presented, even if I don't agree with all of them. A really great project, hope this will end up getting more eyes on it.
Hi, and thanks for your nice feedback!
Glad that you liked it - one note about esoteric ideas: While most esoteric schools assume the existence of a spiritual world that is more meaningful than the reality, I'm the opposite: As a materialist (in the Marxist sense) I do believe that our ideas and ideals (which you could consider an ideal/abstract room, or some lair of spirituality if you prefer) are a result - and as such an existing part - of our reality. Why it might seem a bit like the same as a result, I'd feel safe to say that it isn't.
Greetings
