Interesting take on the jam. I think it's a good idea to try to visualize what an ideal future would be and how to get there. Honestly, I'm not convinced by some of the scientific, ethical, or social feasibility of the solutions given in Autonomy, which seems more like a dream utopia to me, but I still enjoy the idea overal :3
I also thought it was weird that it was a scary spider that had to poison me to get into Autonomy, but sure, why not? Hahaha
An interesting thought experiment for sure, a little too handwavy for my personal tastes, but I definitely appreciate the positive spin on possibilities for the future.
i think positive descriptions of potential better futures is exactly what we need right now! it feels a bit weird that i need to take spider poison to get there but I guess we do need a leap of faith xD
this was fun and thoughtful! it was nice seeing the possibility of a better future :)
i also experienced the bug with not being able to scroll on the page with advice and so couldn't finish the game, but what i did play was great!
my only note is that large paragraphs can be tiring to read at times and i sometimes struggled not to skim a bit despite being really interested in the content. i'd recommend adding a few more paragraph breaks to split things up (particularly the electronics section while shopping and the restaurant while eating).
I do like the basic idea, trying to imagine a world outside of capitalism's dynamics is I think always an important exercise. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the game - on the page with the final advice for the player, the text went beyond the bottom of my screen, and I was unable to scroll down. Also, while the overall setting and the ideas are interesting, I fear it might end up too removed from people's experiences to properly imagine this state of being - what I would have tried to emphasise more would have been a better exploration of transitioning states, and the organisation behind the scenes that makes it possible. That is just my gut feelings, though, I could be wrong about how people will view this. Either way, very interesting read and great project! :)
