Thank you for the support that's very sweet :3 I've reported it so hopefully Itch can make sure that it's not so easy to remove a submission accidentally and since I can't do anything else to make up for it I'll go to sleep, I'll feel better tomorrow XD

(Thankfully my teamates don't resent me though haha :'D)

If they haven't suppressed it I think it's on me :/... I think I have accidentally clicked on "remove this submission" while scrolling on my phone to check the comments (I wanted to show them to someone). I didn't get any dialog box to confirm though so I didn't realize it... I checked and it seems that it has happened before to other people and there is no way to restore it... :'((

There should be a confirmation box but since I'm on firefox on mobile maybe that's why I didn't get it, or maybe it passed to fast for me to see it while scrolling? Idk.

Huh I'm a lil sad and very sorry for my teamates :/...

But thank you both for replying so fast, that's very sweet of you <3

I apparently just removed my teams' game submission from mobile without noticing while scrolling on my screen. It was like a few mins becore the end of the game jam so well... it was too late before we noticed. We had a lot of good comments so we are a little sad to have lost them...

I didn't get any dialog box to confirm. I was on Firefox on mobile (Firefox Nighly to be precise but not sure it matters).

Hello everyone,

It's only a few minutes before the end of the game jam and I see that our game has been removed from the jam? (Mindfarer)

I'm on my phone so I can't do much but is it a mistake on my end or was the game removed for any reason? :(

Thanks in advance

I'm using Firefox >:3 I've tried again and couldn't create the bug again, but I also lost differently (I think). If that helps, the first time I got the bug, it was because my investors (I guess?) had made me resign.
If I notice anything else I will make sure to tell you :3
Good luck with the fixes and good job again :D!

I agree with the lesson of this story wholly :D!

Interesting take on the jam. I think it's a good idea to try to visualize what an ideal future would be and how to get there. Honestly, I'm not convinced by some of the scientific, ethical, or social feasibility of the solutions given in Autonomy, which seems more like a dream utopia to me, but I still enjoy the idea overal :3

I also thought it was weird that it was a scary spider that had to poison me to get into Autonomy, but sure, why not? Hahaha

Same, I wish they diverged more, but overall a good game especially for a jam submission!

Hello!
First of all, I'd like to say that I was very hyped by the artwork, I think it holds great potential.

But sadly I have to agree with others, the game seems kinda broken for now. A tutorial would be nice, as well as "locks" to prevent the players from repeating the same actions and keeping them in line. For instance, I could talk multiple time to the little hourglass in a row, unlocking all of his different greetings (which were meant for later I suppose). I didn't need to process multiple bodies, because by clicking multiple time on the button on the right side while the body was still on it, I could increase artificially my number of processed body and get scores like 70/3 bodies processed :P (Yeah I'm a crazy clicker, they use my for testing that kind of stuff in my team ahahah)

I could talk to the MC's family at home and tried to overdose myself with the pills just to see what would happen, but couldn't manage since interacting with the bed table twice gets you to sleep then back to work the next day. I tried multiple days but I didn't seem to unlock new dialogues with the family nor trigger special events at work (but that's maybe because I was cheating with my work process haha)

So in the end I didn't really understood what was the goal or the plot, if there was any? I think the visuals and the idea of playing a mortician has potential, but it would need a clearer story and gameplay, as well as a more engaging minigame, because for now I don't see the fun in putting the body with his stuff in the table in the middle then just push the button on the right. Or maybe I missed something?

Hey wow! That's a very nice game you made here, good work to all the team! It's also nice to see fellow Godot users <3 It's such a great engine. I really liked the game's idea, graphics, and the UI. The journal titles made me laugh, especially the "Rage bait" XD.

I lost the first time because I was only investing in sustainable projects and putting dividends to the bare minimum. I wonder if we can win this way (as a CEO), mhhh :P I also never took any loans. I don't like giving banks or investors extras when I can avoid it :P.

I wanted to try a new game because it took me a while to realize that there were multiple project sheets, so I hadn't created new labs during the first try. But the thing is, on the HTML version, the saves are bugging. I had the "you lost" message popping up all the time after my first try, even when I deleted the previous save/named the new one differently, deactivated autosave, etc. So in the end, I couldn't play again XD because even when closing the message, the game buttons were unresponsive.

Also, it's a minor "bug", but when you are, for instance, checking credits or whatever, and return to the menu window, the music restarts every time. I think it would be nicer, as a polish, to have the music continue without interruption.

It seems you've created music for the game! That's neat! It goes very well with the game. I think a longer playlist would be appreciated since it becomes repetitive (but thankfully you guys thought of adding the possibility to turn it off, yay!). I understand that it's a lot of work for the music creator(s) if you want to keep it exclusive to your game.

Anway, I really enjoyed it, congrats <3 I'll keep an eye on the project for the future updates :3

I started with the normal difficulty since it's mandatory (and lost, obviously), then following what you said to other players I tried the impossible one... Really cool!! Lots of nice ideas packed here (the clicking like crazy just to collect 1$ lmao, packing death so they don't mean anything anymore, "useless" decisions against the crisis in the normal difficulty). I loved writing my radical ideas, hahaha. Didn't expect that kind of game with the title. Good job!
Was it a solo submission or are you a team? Because it looks quite polished!

Minor remark: when I won, I couldn't remove the notification anymore to continue playing or return to the menu.

Quite cool to have a zine adaptation of such a famous essay! I haven't read the original, but I enjoyed having an overview of it through your zine. It was quite interesting.
The only issue for me was that some pages were difficult to read when the texte was in red or above images. Maybe I missed something because of this, but I think it would have been nice to have a clearer link between capitalism and fascism as a conclusion/perspective, even if it was from your reflexions and not the original author's (while precising the change of narrator of course).

Anyhow nice job!

The UI was hard to understand (it wasn't clear where we needed to click to change the page), but I think the text was good!

(1 edit)

Did you chose "wizards" to match the anti-capitalise "power" criteria :P? If so, I think that's a funny idea :P!
I like fantasy and the idea to have wizards against capitalism is well - quite original, to say the least! I have done only few table RPs, so for me it's a bit hard to image how easily it would be played. Maybe there is not enough information for beginners who don't have an GM who already knows how to animate this game. If you update it, I think people like me would need maybe to see an example of how it would work!
Anyway, congrats on your submission and for the fun idea :3 I like that it also gives the opportunity to players to express how they would view a better world

Honestly a great surprise! Well written, dark and deep, with very nicely done twists!

(1 edit)

Solid game! And pleasantly deep, I didn't know what to expect with a game about buying a charger.
Your writing is great and intense, I was really into the story. I like that there are different endings too.

I darkly enjoyed the Quizz lol, very clever of you. The first question was okay, but I still wanted to quit after this one since there was only one mandatory. Then I saw the points thing and I was like: "Ooh, very smart, I can't really quit now, can I?" but the second question's options were all horrible hahaha. As an artist, I was like "outch."
So on my second run I just decided to give up on that phone charger. So refreshing!

The Fuck Capitalism power is very good here :3! Also I'm guessing this is a solo submission? That's impressive.

If you ever plan to update your game, I think music would be a nice addition to it, even if it's background one (with the possibily to turn it off if it bothers you). Also maybe if you've set a definite number of endings, the "ending number/total ending numbers" would be nice too!

Keep the good work and... fuck capitalism >:3

The .exe version is up! :3 Enjoy <3

I really liked the HTML interface; it was quite well-polished visually. The story and the writing were nice too! Maybe a little bit away from the 'Nautical' theme, in my opinion. I really enjoyed the fact that we could investigate the transaction details of the customer.

I guess the game had to be shortened for the jam, but it would have been very interesting if there were more customers or if the choices had more impact because the ending is the same regardless of what you choose and whichever character you play, am I wrong? I think some music and more UI sounds would make it more immersive too (I heard some sometimes, but it didn't seem very consistent).

Overall, good work! I'm looking forward to updates for your game!

Lol I feel you I suck at piloting this ship too! Would never be employee of the month of this company.

Here's the tuto for the "true" ending.

"If you want to unlock a very different ending, try going back to an island where you've already set a data collector in a previous run (the dots are purple) and talk back to the NPC there. It's more interesting if you had talked to the NPC the first time you met him, but it's not mandatory. You can do that anytime /any run before you set the last data collector.

The discovery of what is happening to the islets and their people after you've set a data collector will trigger an event during your way back to the hub after you've set the final data collector ;)

(additionally it should unlock slightly different dialogues in the hub inbetween your runs everytime you visit a purple-dot island and talk to an NPC there) Tip: You can use the save function with Tab to be able to reload your game if needed."

Receipe to make this game in two weeks: gather 5 friends, two who happens to have devs skills, two who can draw, one who's got the best ideas. You mix them with Godot, Git Hub and a well-organized Discord server so they can work together efficiently, then pour a lot of caffeine on them, with insomnia and junk food as toppings lol.

Thank you for the nice comment and feedback!! Did you manage to reach an ending? Which one? (I'm asking everytime because we were wondering if there were enough hints for the "true" ending).

And you are absolutely right for the fact that Bernard and Wendy are not introduced at the right time (their intro is during the first coffee with the Cap but it can be missed easily). We will try to correct that for the next update (as well as many other little issues and typos)! Thanks for telling us!

I like that kind of games. I was into the story (even if I was confused sometimes and wasn't sure what was happening), but the link didn't work, and to be honest I didn't understood where a code was asked? I reached the "END (?)" without needing it.
Having explanations and references to some words was a nice bonus. I agree with the other comment saying that it would have been nice to have different colors for the buttons that were meant to continue the story and the others that were notes.
I think if you continue this game or make another one, some music would be nice, as well as different backgrounds depending on what's happening. It would dynamize the reader/player's experience as well as make everything clearer for them.
Keep the good work!

Eheh thank you so much for the very kind comment! <3

I'm happy you liked the little references here and there. And our logo too <3

We really did give it our all during this jam (maybe too much? some of us really felt burnt out after the submission XD) so we are happy that our efforts are appreciated. Now that we're less tired we can see all the flaws we have left (the typos oh god, some little features missing for whatever reasons, the .exe version that was broken so we had to remove it lmao) but... Still it's nice XD! We will probably submit a corrected version sometime after the jam.

Can I know which ending did you reach so maybe I can prolong your experience with an alternate one :D?

(1 edit)

Hey SoulSpiller! Thank you again for trying our game multiple time and helping us discover that the .exe version was broken haha

I just gave someone else a tip to an alternate ending that people seem to be missing, so I thought I would give it to you too even if you must be annoyed with the game already :P just in case!

So you returned to the Mothership in the end :)

Thank you for your feedback, we were able to realize that our downloadable version is broken :( We fixed it but we need to see with the organizators if we can resubmit it. At least the html ver. works, oof!

We will keep you in touch if we update the game :3 <3

Wow!! Thanks a lot for this feedback and all the kind words! <33 The emoticons timeline was fun XD I think I can tell what the "D:" moment was :PP

The comparison with Nolan and Satoshi Kon stories sure made us blush :"3
For the game loop, we were actually inspired by games like Mass Effect and Hades. I dont know Heaven's Vault but it seems like a nice game, I'll look more into it, thanks!

We are glad that you enjoyed details and features that we worked hard on! And yes, you are right, we are French, so the English translation was probably a little bit weird sometimes, especially since most of the dialogues were written the last day of the jam lool.

Which ending(s) did you reach?

I think you did very well given the time you had, honestly! I also struggle a lot with coding, so I can imagine how challenging it can be (I'm one of the artists in my team, so I understand).

The psychological intent of your game is quite clear to me, though of course, I wish the game could develop it more and be longer. But considering it’s a solo submission and we only had two weeks, I do think you did an impressive job! It’s evident that you have some experience in game making already. I checked your profile and see that this isn’t your first attempt at a game (which make sense), and they all look very aesthetic! Keep the good work :3

To reply to your question: we’re a bit burned out from the jam right now, but we plan to submit a corrected version (with fewer typos and a clearer UI) before the end of the Josei jam (which is in one month).
We do one game jam with friends every year in May. Next year will be our fifth year of jamming, so we were thinking of making a v2 of one of our previous games to celebrate this anniversary. Maybe it will be 'Mindfarer'! (I hope so, it's the one I enjoyed the one making).

Oh damn, you made it so close to reach one of the endings before it crashed... the "terrorrist" attack is the last mission of the game, actually. I hope you had a save?
I'm guessing you played on browser, but you can still save the game through browser. You just have to press tab and save. There's only one save slot, though. I tried the game on browser till the end and it didn't crash for me so I don't know what happened :/
The downloadable version is probably more stable (and it has better graphics), but still it should work till the end with the html5 ver.

Thank you for the incredible comment! <333 And yeah we did sweat tears and blood during these two weeks, haha. 2 devs, 2 graphists, 1 writer, very very little sleep, lot's of caffeine and junk food... but no regrets lol.
Still, reading such a wonderful feedback and see our efforts appreciated is great! THANKS AGAIN!

Hello!
I've downloaded your game, I liked the idea of a ship-to-ship combat >:3
The start button wasn't working though, so I wanted to quit, and the quit button actually made the game start XD
The graphical assets work fine for the game, I think they were nice, but I had trouble findind how to shoot because there was no tutorial? (or did I miss it?) I also couldn't find any ship to battle with, even though I roamed the map for a few minutes XD
Did I do something wrong?

(1 edit)

Very well designed and polished game!

Very well designed and polished game! Impressive for a solo submission :3
The art and animation is pretty. I like the way the story is told, and the twist in the end!

My only very tiny remark is that the background behind the dialogs in the first part are clicking, and I think it would be better if they don't; it hurt my eyes a bit.

I saw in the comments of the jam that you oversimplified your ideas to submit on time. Do you plan to extend your game after the jam?

Anyway, good job! I enjoyed it.

(1 edit)

Thank you very much for your feedback!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the premise of the game <3. Did you manage to reach one of the endings?
We're very happy that you find the game idea, design and polish good, since we sweat a lot during those two weeks haha.

Could you please explain exactly what was the problem during the navigation part? Did you do the tutorial?
Was the problem understanding how to move the ship, or did you not understand where to go/how to land?

Commands to move are WASD, there is a red arrow showing you where to go, and E to interact with the island where to land.

Aw just noticed your message but thanks <3
We are probably going to create a new game for another jam again this year :3 Can't wait!

Thanks! We are glad you enjoyed the game even if some mechanics were hidden :D
I'm happy you enjoyed the music choice too :3 <3 Took us a while to decide on it XD

(1 edit)

Thanks <3! You have to try to replace all your old high tech resources by new, low-tech ones before the timer of old buildings runs out. If any of your resources is not full (100%), people will start dying until you've completed the map.
In order to increase your resource production (and thus the score), you can try different patterns of constructions and test different interactions between them :D

Thank you for checking out our game!
