  • Great and original concept, looked great as well. Unfortunately this was incredibly ambitious in such a short timeframe, and bugs kept me from progressing past the first battle on every try.

I really liked the idea and the design, I think it has potential, but I had some difficulties with the game, because of some soft locks ( it may sound ambitious, but if you intend to continue with this project, I think it would be very nice if the player dies, he comes back as the son alone similar to the rogue legacy )

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The mechanic right now is that the son revives the mom and loses some time. Technically that works, but the initiative tracker prevents achieving that outcome right now haha.

I'm going to pick up work again tonight and update the jam with a link to a version I'm going to improve.

Sadly found this a little unplayable. One of the big issues is some buttons you can click, some you have to press the key. Just needs more dev time I think, this kinda game needs a lot more feedback for the player. Great start though, doing something different.

Developer

Sadly, I agree! I planned to give key presses for all buttons and visa versa, but definitely ran out of time. Also broke combat a part right before submitting, but such is life.

I do plan to keep working on it as a learning exercise and welcome the feedback.

I like the 2.5D and an RPG! You were ambitious! Good job! :)  Yeah, I had multiple songs going and I got stuck after fighting the bone'ies first round. But, really the game and I bet if you added a story on it would be a hit. Great job overall!

Developer

Much appreciated! I must admit I did the thing you're not supposed to do and put music/sfx in right at the end, and I totally misunderstood how GC handles music. I plan to keep working on this as an exercise in learning GC2 and game dev in general. I'll check your game out soon too!

Not to worry my friend!! That comes with more time. I really did like your game it was fun. I love RPG games and even timed-turn based ones too. Yeah, I have GC2 just haven't messed with it yet.. waiting for some of the other modules to come around. But, totally get it. Thank you for making the game! Again it is a good start! :)

Nice job!  I love the shock attack and the look of the level.  Great menu screen too.

Developer

Thanks! I unfortunately broke the initiative tracker right before submitting it! First game jam so I'm not too too sad about it.
