Love the "Super Mario" vibes with this! My brother commented while watching me play that you must love making hard Mario maker levels in your spare time hahaha. Love the game very nice job!

Pros:

  • Fun Gameplay
  • Difficult Level Design (I think this is good as long as the controls are easy)

Improvements:

  • A bit too difficult at times , could use better difficulty ramping.

Good stuff man! Would love if you took a look at my game Moon Blob and see how far you can get ;)! https://avatar-nick.itch.io/moon-blob

Had a ton of fun with this one but boy was it hard. Obvious Meatboy and VVVVVV comparisons but it felt like a unique spin so good job. Love the art, it's minimal and functional but it looks great which is a solid achievement. I did think that the weight of the character could have used some finessing, sometimes it felt like a barrier to what I wanted to do. Overall this is a really great entry.

Developer

Thanks alot for the feedback. We experimented alot with those values and finalized it. But looks like it needs some more tuning.

This is without a doubt the hardest game jam game I have ever played. It took a good amount of effort, but I got through all the levels. Really great level design. I found the character really hard to control sometimes, but I guess so is Meatboy haha.

Great job!

Developer

Great that you have completed all the levels. I heard it from fewer people. Thanks alot for the feedback.

Lots of fun!  I like how you used the lighting effects to liven up the look, and that play control cannot have been too easy to get pinned down, big kudos to that.

SUPER MEAT BOY

neat mechanic as reversing grav also has a set time limit so you cant just stick to the top

Big Thumbs Up!!

Super Meat Boy meets VVVVVV? In my book, games that create innovative mechanics and have the level design to support them are golden. Yours fit it really well, and was very polished too. If I would point out something I didn't like, I would say that the character is way too heavy for the speed that the game requires you to play under. Like, sometimes you must react to something that just appeared onscreen but you already made the jump and can't really make significant changes in your trajectory in midair. The fact that you can't completely stop your horizontal velocity in midair to fall straight down is also something too. But yeah, I understand this is a game jam and I'm nitpicking. This is a sign that I liked your game and there's not much to criticize. Good job!

great observation, we experimented with stopping midair, but it was too floaty , currently player can stop mid air by holding opposite direction, Thanks for the feedback by the way

Cool mechanics and great visuals!
Reminds me of Super Meat Boy and its super tight controls!

Good job, and good luck!

Really enjoyed the mechanics, very original! Some levels were though haha, but that made it even more challenging.

I had a lot of fun playing your game! I really liked the graphics and the movement mechanics, especially the gravity direction toggle. Also each level is pretty unique which keeps it interesting. I agree with another comment to round the level time to fewer decimals.  Overall, great job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback.  agreed about the decimals, we postponed the correction to the end, but ultimately missed it before the deadline. Lesson learnt for next time :)

Liked the gravity + jumping mechanic, very fun. Also the graphics were great. Picked up the controls quickly. One small personal preference, I'd round down the level times to have fewer decimals so its easier to compare them.

The design of this game is fascinating, loved the particles and audio, but it was too hard for me in the beginning, which made me rage :D Gameplay and controls were great! Loved this game <3 It definitely deserves more rates.

Fun and challenging! I died soo many times on this level. I liked the feature that allowed me to view my dead body parts on the floor. :)

Cool visual style and nice gameplay although it was a little hard for me.

I found the extreme horizontal components of the jump hard to get used to.

Developer

Yes they need a bit getting used to , once you get used to them, you will become a natural

Very interesting idea and has been executed extremely well..
