Hahahahha, interesting game. Didn't expect to be able to kill NPCs, so was laughing out loud when Alvin was running away in pain. Nice touch having floating text to show NPC speech, made it a lot more interactive.

This is great! Such a big game for a jam, and the combat feels good. The gun feels grunty and the sword stamina system make combat a little more tactical than just hacking away.
Really good job!

I think this is a pretty cool game. The art is nice and I like how the town looks in particular. Shooting the gun also felt satisfying. I did find a bug though where I got stuck to the building next to the father's shop, but it wasn't too far into the game yet, so a quick restart was enough. I'm sure making an RPG is really tough, so good job!

Thank you so much for giving it a try! Also, thank you for telling us about that bug. As soon as we are able to update the page after the jam, that'll be fixed.

Looks really good but I'm a bit confused on the controls. Can't seem to open the quest menu I see in the screenshots or use any of my non-weapon items like mutton or wine. I'd like to give this another shot once I know how to do that. Good work on what I've seen so far though.

Thank you for giving it a try! We're working on making the game more accessible and intuitive for future patches. If you still want to give it another shot, here are some additional controls to make your playthrough easier:

CONTROLS

  • R to scroll through equipped consumables
  • E to use equipped consumable
  • Y to open quest menu
  • C to open the character sheet
  • Tab for inventory

Hi, I really liked playing this game, it all felt very cohesive and everything blended well, extra props for the art, the zombie enemies looked grotesque and horrible, and that really sold the atmosphere of it being an isolating world. One thing that would really take the game to the next level is music; I feel it would add something that isn't currently there, but apart from that there isn't anything bod about the game. However, there is one bug I found, where, when you would die, you would wake up lying on the ground, and I assume that is the normal position, but even it I tried to walk, it would stay lying, also, I didn't know how to attack with my weapons even though there was a pop up on how to do it. To improve on this, you could set the pop ups where they would only go away when you pressed a specific button or just have them stick around for a bit longer. Overall, I had a really fun time playing this game and I personally think (with a bit more work) it could be turned into a fully fledged game that I would buy. Well done!

Thank you so much Conquerer! Your critiques are really helpful to us! We plan on continuing development, so we'll implement a lot of what you suggested. Especially the sound design stuff! For that bug you found, I suggest left-clicking to shoot when you die. It should restore the walking animation! Thanks again :) -Morgan
