This was cool! I liked the graphics and the attention to detail on the high seas like the shipwreck on the island in the South East and the wrecks in the rocky areas. Good work with the upgrade system and random enemy spawns.
My only suggestions would be that a pause button would be nice and maybe some more realistic sound effects. Oh and I bumped into the black pirate ship for fun, but nothing happened - not sure if that was intentional.
Thanks for playing! The black pirate ship is a ghost ship. The ship is meant to fly over head in random directions. I also agree with the pause button. I didn't think of it until after it was submitted.
Thanks!
Loved the game!
I only think that the health hud should be more prominent
Thank you! HUD scaling, got it!
Nice game! I managed to get 314 before succumbing. I'm mad that when brainstorming ideas for the theme, pirates didn't even cross my mind! I'm a fool! As for gameplay, I basically agree with what CFHM said about the upgrades. Even with the legend in the description it was hard to make them out and the text was small and disappeared quickly. The controls were snappy, and arcadey in a good way. Overall it's a good submission!
Thanks for playing. We are happy you liked it.
Loved the retro aesthetics matched with the audio. I got 6 points before I was overwhelmed by the bullet hell lol. Because the "start" menu had you moving right, I assumed you would keep moving right the whole time and I ended up missing a lot of stuff. Upgrades could have been bigger as with the text. I don't know what I was picking up lol. Good job on making this game!
We are glad you like it! I wanted the text to be horizontal no matter the orientation of the ship. And I wasn't sure if I should make the text bigger, because I didn't want it to obstruct the view of the player. That gives me an idea for an options menu next time. Thanks for the feedback!
Love the classic vibe. A solid combo between Pokemon Emerald style + Sid Pirates! Love it :)
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed the game!
