Had some issues with the controls but good job on completing and submitting a game. I played it tonight on my live stream and you can check it out if you like for my feedback here

OMG, it's so great to see how people play this game !! It's a brilliant idea!!

I was screaming like .. don't go there, there is a bug..

Anyway, thank you so much and it means a lot to me.

Controls felt like the poor guy got drunk on rum when the zombies hit the island :D The funny thing is that I was not annoyed by the controls but it made the game more fun to play :D I like the idea of collecting stuff but somehow it was not really clear at the beginning what should I do exactly. Clearly there are a few things to fix and polish (like I was not able to enter some dungeon corridors - probably some collider issue), but overall it is a nice game you put together in two weeks, well done!

LOL, you are one of the few people who enjoy the control. (thumbs up).

I fixed it by pumping up the "Sensitivity" in Input Manager, then it becomes too easy to play.  Still trying to figure out the great balance between fun & challenge.  Oh, I 100% agree with you, there are few hidden bugs that need to be fixed. Thanks for leaving the nice feedback.

Controls sill need some tweaking... Gamepad for movement mostly works (that inertia thing make it really difficult to hit narrower passages, though), but somehow no action buttons are assigned.

A built a native version and that had some issues. When I entered the dungeon area the message I rescued the captain popped up immediately and the same seemingly froze. But perhaps it was just the message in the way and I might have blindingly gotten to the exit back to the main map... So when entering the dungeon it needs to prepare the states of the canvas objects into a defined setup.

And other messages popping up (like finding the seeds or some other item) were either not filling the screen (if they were intended to do that) completely or simply too large, they occupied about 80% of the screen leaving a top row of the map visible. I'd say some scaling would be in order here.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback.

I saw the same issue before (Entered the dungeon area and the odd message appear), but I thought I fixed it, or it might be some other scenario, I will have a look later.

Agree with you about the enormous messages. I forgot why I intended to do that LOL.

Charming adventure game, but the inertia on the main character made him really hard to control. I quite like the idea, though.

Developer(+1)

LOL. I am glad you like it.

Found the character movement to be quite difficult but still enjoyed it. love the character sound when he gets gold. and the ocean sounds were a nice touch, a tad loud. You might want to look at disabling fire functionality when a message pops up, i was able to shoot while answering quizes. Great job, and love the idea.

Developer

Yeah !! I love that ocean sound. Thanks for pointing that out.

Definitely going to disable that fire function, thanks again. :)

Player was a bit hard to control, but well done getting something submitted before the deadline!

I liked the visuals and the wave sounds. The boat was a nice touch!

Developer

Thanks !!!!!!!!

Nice little game. Like everyone said, movement was rough. Took a few tries, but I managed to complete the game. Well done and keep learning

I love the map assets. This seems like a cool premise for a game. Would be nice to see the paths utilized more. I wasn't sure whether I needed to follow them or not? I also wasn't sure when/how I was picking up books and seeds. Was it random or was there something on the map triggering the pick-ups? Anyway, I hope you continue to flesh this one out and big congrats on finishing your first game jam! :)

Well done on getting a game completed and published!

The controls need some work, he mostly moved on his own or diagonally, always felt like I was fighting for control.

Wasn't 100% sure waht was going on most of the time if I am honest.

I really liked the art style of moving a character around on an old looking map. However, the movement didn't feel great, either moving the wrong way or too far/short based on inputs. I also lost, but I'm not sure why. I lost when I was on the help screen trying to figure out what to do :(

Nice player character and coins! I wonder where you got them from... ;)

Love the artwork and the style. I could have used some explanation as to what's going on, but I was able to start looking for stuff. I lost when I went to the ship and I wasn't sure why.

Also the guy moved around even when I wasn't pressing any buttons - was he using a rigidbody?

Developer

I will mention to my project manager, .................. oh wait, that's me.

Lol

I will try to update the explanation ASAP.

I updated a hotfix for stop the guy moving around without any input.

Thank you so much for the feedback!!!!

This game has definitely a unique style to it :)
