Absolutely terrifying! I wasn't sure if there was a puzzle I had to be completing or a story to be progressing, but I had fun exploring the map and wandering through the various doors.

Interesting project!

At the start, felt very uncomfortable and scared to play this, atmosphere is awesome, really disturbing!

Style is great, loved effects on screen, and overall aesthetics are pretty good.

But gameplay is really unfinished. Felt like doors are just teleports to other locations, and after visiting 3 of them, became boring to explore. Really needs some direction, some it could feel like experience from start to final.

Soundtrack also is awesome, liked it a lot!

There is bugs, pause menu doesn't worked properly (but liked image in pause!), mouse cursor didn't showed up, and in the scene with some humanoids, when you are in hands or just in front of them, if use press ESC it will move camera and stack sounds.

But overall, pretty good idea, very ambitious, would love to see this project evolve!

super good soundtrack and atmosphere. did you do your own music? and is there more of it?

Hey thanks, appreciate it. Music was done by myself. I'm an audio production major just starting out in school, don't have much of a portfolio right now. Developer has been my best friend since we were kids, so I jumped at the chance to try making something for a project.

Hey @Kindman! Thank you so much for trying out the game and your feedback! @Justin Wiechec did a fantastic job on the music, my jaw dropped as I was sitting on discord as he was making it live! I'm pestering him to put more out on his twitter or soundcloud! *cough cough wink wink* I know you're reading this @Justin lol.

I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the game and the intro!. The music and sounds were amazing although the duck sound seemed a little out of place. I think it could benefit from some story or instructions as I was unsure what to do and what the doors did. Great job though!

Hi thank you so much for trying out the game and amazing feedback @deadzed98! I completely agree with all your points below and looking to take them into the game jam I do! This is some extremely valuable feedback and is really appreciated :).

The atmosphere you created in this game is great!  I'm just not sure what I was supposed to do :P

Hey there :)! I appreciate you trying out the game!  I severely underestimated this project and the time it would take, but has helped me to learn to make the objectives more clear in the next project!

As for what to do.. Each time you go through the doors something will change (sometimes the direction you enter will affect the outcome as well :) ), leading you to further progression. The game is supposed to feel like you're in a purgatory of sorts. I was so crunched trying to get the puzzle working that I realized I hadn't quite explained what the heck to do / expect!

Hi, I noticed your submission is missing source folders. Your source is everything someone needs to download your game, open it in the game engine, and hit Play to play the game. In your case, your source is missing the Assets, Packages, and ProjectSettings folders. Here is an example of what your source should look like: https://github.com/icepol/DeathIsOnlyTheBeginning

Hi Yang! Thank you! Apologies this is my first game jam and will put that in github ASAP. Thank you for your patience with me!

Developer

Hi Yang! I just posted the source code as a link in One drive! Please let me know if this doesn't work.

I followed the instruction here:

Yup, that will work!
