Good take on the theme, I liked the use of AI art that gives a different experience from other games, yet as you know it was bad with eyes miss-positioned and such
the game is cool thought, but you need more work on the story and connection of the events, because it feels like a random set of events happening rather than a human life story
Pretty good, but like the comments below, i would be interesting to see how the choices would change the Arthur's life! However, nice work! :)
I agree with comments below where it would be interesting to see how the choices we made will impact the character's life down the road.
your game made me realize that I am actually more allergic to AI art (and probably writing) than I thought... The experience that was meant to feel human and personal felt shallow and fake instead.
Why do we jump from "let's have a family" to a random funeral?
Did you know, that Arthur changes his name to Archer in the middle of the game? Did you actually read all of your game?
I'm sorry, if I am being extra harsh on you, but this contrast of seemingly human story and machine-generated content really triggered something in me. let's not make games like that.
Heyy, thanks for playing the game! I originally planned to use the AI art as refrence and draw each background scene, link the story elements together and stuff. However being my second game and also working 60 hours 7days, did not get enough time. I personally really like to have AI as a handy tool for creating flavour text, refrence art, and stuff. But would never rely on it for a product or game i would like to sell, it completely ruins the emotion of the game and makes it very robotic. But at the very end my goal was to finish the game no matter how it came out to be.

thanks for that graceful reply. I think I was acting a bit rash. the whole AI content generation development IS truly magnificent and I don't shy away from it myself occasionally (and will probably use more and more in the future), but I also feel like it's a power that can corrupt us (especially solo game devs) by giving us an easy way out for a lot of the work that needs to be done in a game, but potentially alienating us as the creators from the actual product by giving away control on the details. I am not talking specifically about your game, but rather thoughts (and fears) I have for my own work, that has been triggered by playing your game.
at the same time: getting a game done in that amount of time and under each of our own circumstances (60h workweek is A LOT my friend!) is real feat and I respect that a lot - no matter which shortcuts being taken
Interesting concept, I would like to see a version of this game where your choices impacted choices down the line.
