Cool! I got all the blocks lol. Switching to 2d is not really useful but it's programmed well. If you ever made this bigger, maybe there could be blocks you could only get in 2d or something? But I had fun. Good job!

I think I like the idea of it a little more than the execution of it.  I did it at first just going through 2D and hit the end game real quick.  Then the next time around I went to 3D mode to collect all the items and when I went near the end, it put me in 2D mode and I couldn't access the end game without going back into 3D because the character wasn't aligned with the end game part.  I also had trouble aligning the character with the 2D view.  I think it might have been a bit better to make it so that when you go into the 2D view, it accepts A , D as backwards and forwards in relation to the camera view so that it controls like a sidescroller.  That all said though, great job getting all of this done solo!

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

You are right, the controls should follow the game status (2D should use A/D to move, 3D the actual control). I will implement this change in the new version, with other improvements (graphics, sound etc).

Thank you!

Glad you fixed the upload. I was a bit confused by the mechanics, felt like the 2d mode just gets in the way of me playing, and then the last message just made it all make sense. Well done :)

Thank you!
Of course, this is a sort of "demo". In future, I will release an enhanced version in which I will make some modifications to the controls and the environment.

There appears to be some missing files to play the game:

Extracting  The Switcher.exe                                          OK
Extracting  UnityCrashHandler64.exe                                   OK
Extracting  UnityPlayer.dll                                           OK
All OK

Error:

Application folder:
D:/games/switcher
There should be 'The Switcher_Data'
folder next to the executable

Thank you for letting me know!
There was actually some missing files.

Uploaded a new .rar file with all the files needed.

I shall give it a try when I am at my computer later.

Your rar file does not include the data folder which is required to run the game, so I couldn't play it. Let me know if you update it and I'll give it another shot.

Cool! I gave it a play. I appreciate that you did something cool with the life in 2d theme, though I will admit I'm a little confused by the mechanic. Would be cool if there was puzzles you had to solve by switching back and forth between 2d and 3d. In this version I felt like I was just switching to 2d very briefly just to reset my timer.

Regardless, good job on the jam. I liked the character model. I'm sure you can take the concept further if you want.

Developer

Thank you!

Yes, the mechanics are not at their best for this concept. I will improve it in the next version.

Thanks for the feedback.
