No prior game dev experience lead to bigger scope than we could execute.

I'm glad you submitted what you had when time expired. It's too easy to give in and say nevermind, but you didn't and I appreciate that.

I liked the layout of your town and the art you chose. I could imagine enjoying this game again as you continue to add to it.

I seriously didn't understand how to play this and ended up clicking the screen at random... but it was somehow satisfying to see the first skyscraper xD

Yep.. There were 15 minutes left for me to rebase with the change of the user interface, build and submit, so I decided to skip it.. If we had 15 more minutes it would've had moving cars on the streets and interface with buttons to click when building which would've made it more intuitive.

We'll probably extend it to more of a game than a concept in the months to come. I was nice to get inspiration from the idea generator :)
We spend more time designing a full game than coding, but then we couldn't execute.

This one feels more like the start to a game idea than a game, but that's the nature of a jam. I experienced one hipster mob and thought it was cute. I felt bad getting rid of all those parks. :( Wish I could zoom the camera out more too. You did a good job for having no prior game dev experience.
