You were stressing me out the discord server but this really came together. The length and difficulty were very well tuned (unlike SOME game I know 🐦), it didn't feel easy and took a few tries but never felt unfairly hard. The polish was pretty impressive considering the time it was put together in. The story felt a little bit disconnected with the gameplay but the projectiles and animals were worked together very cohesively. I saw you said this was your first jam where you used digital art instead of pixel art and I think it looks great! I did the same with my game but only for UI and a cutscene. Great job (especially for just over a day of work)!
Thanks for playing! We really did quite the opposite time wise haha.
Now I really wish I had spent the last hour adding an additional cutscene image where the boy runs into the wolves and picks up rocks. Instead I slept (which probably was a decent idea too, although it won't help me in scoring).
Looks amazing visually and love the sound design too! I like many design choices (you can herd animals using your character, you can accidentally kill the animals, you have to pick up stones after throwing them, etc.).
The game froze when I triggered the ending the first time, but worked normally the second time after I refreshed the page, so I'm not sure what happened.
Pretty impressive making it in 30 hours. Great job!
Ah shoot, I had issues with the game crashing on web before but I never managed to track it down sadly. Thought I had fixed it. Luckily the game is so short you can replay it easily, and I'm glad you did! (As far as I know, the crash is due to some audio issues with godot, I guess that's what I get for using 4.4 beta)
I'm glad you liked it!
First, I love the look of the game. I watched your making of video and I'm so impressed with your graphic talent (I have none of it).
Second, I thought the difficulty was perfect. It too me three tries, but I finally beat the level. It all felt very polished and bug free.
Third, great use of projectiles and animals. Well, thought out.
If I had any complaints it would be about the story. It felt sort of tacked on at the beginning and then the actual game didn't seem to advance it at all. I think if you could integrate more of a story with more level going forward it would be fantastic.
Still, I really liked this game a lot. Very well done.
Thanks for playing! I'm stoked to hear that people like my art! Usually I do pixelart, but after this I will surely come back to this style :D
Yeah, I wanted to have more levels with more "cutscenes" and also an additional intro image with the wolves coming from the forest, but I had no time sadly, as I started this game just 30 hours before the deadline (I could reuse the animal sprites though).
