This was such a shame, I think my game got bugged, I couldn't get past the crew screen after assigning them and judging by the comments that seems to be happening to everyone else. :(
It looks like such a promising idea too, similar to FTL which in itself was a really innovative idea. I'd really like to give this another try if you manage to iron out the issue at the beginning!
I think I might need some help here. What do I need to do in the first fighting scene? Collect the blowing cubes or dodge them? What "space" button do? Even if I assign all the crew I can't get past it? I'm I missing something? Besides that I like the music and the space ship's controls feel good in combat. Very nice approach for the theme!
I tried a couple of times because I thought it might be a bug but I get stuck on the crew screen once I've assigned 5 people. I think I can see where the game was going in terms of the theme but wasn't able to go past that point unfortunately. Some good artwork on the internal of the spaceship though!
I get stuck on the crew screen also. I like the pixel graphics.

I'm just having a look at this one this morning, love all the artwork and the 3d models so far! I do however get stuck at the crew selection screen after i get smacked down by some aliens :P
Tips? :)
