Sometimes they don't come out this good too.  How do you guys make your animated GIFs?

I use gfycat. It has some limitations but it's the easiest input to best output I've found.

Your game looks really interesting and juicy. I'll play it as soon as I'm back from work.

Apple store GIPHY Capture App worked pretty well but I didn't realize I should've added a gameplay GIF until after I saw everyone else did =/

ScreenToGif is a really nice program for making gifs easily. Light weight and no installer required. It's a standalone exe. Definitely recommend it

I record with Kzam, but thats Linux only. For editing and optimizing I use https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif, usefull If you want to make your gifs match certain site requirement regarding resolution and file size.
