I like the theme of dice!

Very nice work for 48 hours! I think the cam is a bit to close as others said, but I really like how you used this idea of random weapon switching. Hope you'll get some more ratings, but whatever, keep creating games! :)

Thank you for the positive feedback! :D

After seeing many submission of this jam, I found that the random weapon is quite the popular choice, but not many did the great execution of it. Your one is, though, really good! Obviously, it needs some polish, but for a game jam in 48 hours, the game is nice and satisfying.
I wanted to comment on the camera and some other things, but I've seen some people already did that, so let me just tell you that the game indeed has a potential. Keep up with it, and good luck to you!
P.s. I think you should've upgraded the thumbnail. Let it show more of an actual gameplay rather than the simple name. This way, you could've attracted more potential players to test the game!

Thank you for the feedback and the well wishes! I'll definetely be polishing the game post jam, fixing those issues :>

And the thumbnail idea is very good, I'll try that later today!

Good luck to you too!

The approach and idea here is very intriguing! A great job for 48 hours, the camera could have been better though,

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, the camera placement is not that good... Partialy my fault and partialy because Unreal prewiev is not accurate and I didn't have time to fix it after packaging the build :/

Nice concept with the health being on the die itself, the dice puns were also a nice touch. The camera angle could feel better, either widening it a bit or going full top-down, i felt it was too close, a bit claustrophobic even.

Some weapons can use some tweaking, the bow could have a lower curve or have the player charge the shot, so the arrow doesn't go over the head of the enemies, the sword is shorter than the enemies' one so I couldn't get around that, you could either make it longer or have the enemies turn around slower so the player has a chance to get around and stab with it while being safe.

A bit of an overhaul on the hitboxes could make it feel more responsive as well, often found myself not knowing if the attack did hit or not.

A timer of when the next weapon change comes could give leniency to players while keeping the randomness present, sometimes giving that kind of info to the players can make the game feel better, not showing which weapon, just letting them know when its coming

Overall it is a nice game and you implemented the concept successfully,  its always nice to see an UE game around!

(My comments are aimed to aid finding out ways to improve the game, this doesn't mean its bad or that I didn't like it, the opposite, it was because I liked it that I spent time writing this)

Edit: Oh btw, I didn't manage to launch it through Itch's launcher, no clue how it works but just so you know

Thank you for a great and informative feedback! I'll try going over most of the points you mentioned!

Camera placement is kind of a bug that I found out only after I packaged the build... Turns out, Unreal's preview is not that accurate...

Weapons are kind of tricky subject as I was trying to work them into a triangle range system of bow>spear>sword>bow, but those are very valid points, the sword has a bit too short of a range and bow could use some fixing.

Hitboxes are indeed wonky and I might work on them after the voting ends!

As for the timer, great idea! I'll make sure to implement it later!

Huh, that's weird on itch.io's part. I'll try checking some things out with the app, thanks for the heads up!

In the end, I'm glad you liked the game despite its flaws!

Had a blast with this, I felt very lucky as my weapon switches always came at the right time haha. I really liked the idea of the dice numbers representing health too, I didnt catch on to that straight away but its a nice touch! I agree with the other commenter, I think with some polish and more content it could be more than a jam game! Great fun :)

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

Very fun game! I like the concept and the gameplay itself but it is very buggy (as most jam games are) and i feel like with more polish and content this could become something more than a jam game. Overall really fun game.

My highscore is 455

Thanks for the feedback! I definetely want to post the fixed and improved version after the jam ends (I had a whole power up system planned and implemented, but had to cut the power ups themselves because I ran out of time...)
