I liked it!

Maybe a much larger rage meter, with a cooldown? so a means of encouraging the player to be more strategic with when and how much they are shooting.

And a more chaotic rage state could be fun - I was relatively quickly able to figure out the reversed controls and get comfortable with them.

Third things would just to be potentially having more dynamic enemies, or enemies that are better able to aim at you - I was able to find pockets where the enemies couldn't shoot me from a particular angle, and just sit and spam bullets.

But overall pretty cool, this is the first time I've played games made in the GMTK game jam and this is my favorite so far!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! Yeah its pretty limited and easy to cheese, I just ran out of time. Thanks for the playthrough!

Ohh! I really liked this one!!!

I have some feedback you could take into consideration in your next builds, if you want:

1.Screenshake, flashes and more particles! It would really enhance the game "feel"

2.Make the shooting towers visually distinguishable depending on their hp and shooting patern

3.Make the spawning of the enemies and spawning of the bits different (Some times I saw a tower spawning and went for it thinking it was a bit)

4.Make lower hp towers spawn more at the begging and less as the highscore increases

5.Add some pitch variety to the "glink" sound when collecting bits so that it doesn't get repetitive

All in all, those are just some minor tweakings you could do. Overall I really enjoyed the game!!!

Good Luck!

P.S.: the walking animation is slick!!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I can definitely implement these things in a later iteration! Appreciate the playthrough.

Shooting the towers to rage didn't really feel good, as you have to shoot them, so you pretty much stay raged at all times. Would have been better if you raged after being hit or something.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I might change the rage state in a future buil

I haven't seen many bullet hells this jam, and since it's one of my favorite genres, this was right up my alley. I really like how there's a risk-reward aspect to killing enemies, it's really fun to wait until there are tons of enemies, then fill the rage bar and see how long you can go without getting hit. The art is really polished and nice looking as well. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! I plan on adding future mechanics into the game later on to add some more gameplay. Thanks for the playthrough :)

This was fun! I liked the idea of the "rage" bar which reverts the controls when full. I you want to improve your game after the jam, maybe consider adding moving/rotating ennemies?

Good job :)

A tad too easy to survive, but great potential ahead! Really like the minimalist art.  Very good presentation and closely fits to the theme:)) Definitely not raged with this game:DD

Thanks for the feedback and playthrough!

A funny addictive little game :) Rage mode felt a bit easy. Still very fun!

Thanks! I wanted to add more mechanics that stop the cheese but didnt have time, appreciate the feedback!

This is a decent arcade title! It has clean presentation and good game feel. One thing I think could be improved, though, is the "out of control" state. Just reversing the controls didn't do enough to really make be lose control of my character. Overall, though, good job!

Developer

Yeah I planned on adding more to that mechanic but ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback and the playthrough!

Solid entry for a solo project. It wasn't terribly hard, but it was really clean looking. I liked the rage effect too. My only real issue was when I would fire, there wasn't any sort of cooldown for the rage.

Overall, great job! And solid use of theme!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably improve the rage mechanic soon :)

Short and fun, I just decided to standstill and constantly shoot instead xD, maybe you can up the difficulty a bit by forcing the player to constantly move during rage, but other than that I have no suggestions, really fun game!

Developer

I'll probably add a negative effect if you stand still for too long, thanks for the play!

Hey, just curious, are you planning on releasing the game for Mac OS in the future? I don't have the Windows PC now, but the screenshots look nice and minimalistic in a positive way, so I will return to your game in a few days to play and rate it :)
By the way, good luck!

Oh man I definitely should have had a mac and a linux export! My bad! Ill make sure to add them when the ratings are over.

As simple as it is it is quite a nice game. Rather addicting as well. The rage mode is a nice touch as well. Nice job overall :)

Developer

Thanks! I'm a 1 man team so I kept it simple. Glad to hear it was addicting!

I enjoyed this a lot despite it's simplicity - I'm a fan of the reversing controls thing (I did a version of that in my game too) and no matter how many times you run into it it still takes your brain a second or two to adjust - and that second or two can be life or death! My high score in your game was around 550. The music was great too! Very satisfying and fits the theme.

Developer

Thanks! I appreciate the play through. The controls always trick me aswell, i figured id implement it to fit the theme.
