How does your game fit the theme?
Controls in the game change semi-randomly. Its a puzzler, you need to get to the exit - but there is a little bit of logic on how the controls change, you have to figure it out to be able to move properly.

Really frustrating! I wasn't having much fun, and when I lost it felt nice that this frustration was acknowledged haha. Seems like there was a good lesson about accessibility here that I wouldn't have contemplated otherwise, so I appreciate that.
This game isn't bad, although once you reach the zombie portion, it becomes basically unplayable. You should really add health or something to keep the zombies from one shotting you, so you don't feel like you got screwed by bad luck.
Ahhh, just had the idea to show the controls "T shaped" orientation on screen, which would help to figure out better what are the next set of keys.
For example, if you get the same orientation as WASD (an upside down 'T'), it means the first row of keys on your keyboard (QWERTYUIOP), if used, would necessarily go up. If you get a 'T' rotated 90º to the left or right, you know up/down will be in the keys in the middle (ASDFGHJKL), etc ;)
As soon as the entries are judged and I can upload a new version of the game with this, I will :)
I liked the idea very much. Read the comments below and I am not much frustrated now.
Love the concept. The wrong input sound was too annoying though. Is there a way to figure out the new controls without guessing, or am I just stupid? The zombies really gave me a hard time. Love the presentation!
You do have to guess, but once you find out *one* key, you know the others are just around it, in a "T" shape just like WASD ;)
(The shape can be rotated though, so for example AXSW is a valid possibility!)
consect ok. but the rage is crazy which takes a lot from the fun.
Very interesting approach to the theme and is well executed, good job!
Hints for you guys (I should have placed this on the game somewhere):
* Controls are always on a "T" shape, just like WASD. It can be rotated, upside-down... but are always keys next to each other.
* There is a sequence on key changes. First level has just 2 set of keys, level 2 has 3, 4 has 5 and so on. When a sequence ends, it loops over.
If you map the controls once, you can write down the whole sequence and then it becomes much easier :)
Every game the keys selected are randomized - but not totally random (as I said it respects the "T" shape), like you wont get something like ALTB for movement ;)
I agree that the number of moves before reshuffling is kinda low, and I don't know how to feel about the fact that 50% of the game is rng, but it's still a very good game concept and also well excecuted!
See what I just posted - it's not totally RNG, there is a pattern to it. And if you take notes... ;)
Oh interesting interesting. Nice!
A bit too frustrating for me, and the ramp up in difficulty is a bit much; like the concept!
The point (if you didn't see the final message, by 'giving up', to lose by game over or winning the game) is exactly that - to be frustrating! :)
Very unique gameplay loop I haven't seen before. I did find that 5 moves seemed like a perfectly chosen amount, but sometimes felt too low; The strategy I ended up using was every time the controls changed I would use up 4 moves trying to find the controls, and then I had 1 move to use to get to where I needed to go. I still think this game has potential and fits the theme very well.
There is a pattern to the keys. Patterns are always "T" shaped and they loop after a while ;)
So there is a much better way of doing it! Will take note! :)
