I like the idea of the squads and battling for squares. I think if you sped things up, it'd be more enjoyable. I spent a lot of time waiting for my few troops to do much in the beginning. Perhaps a training stage would be useful to display the mechanics. Nice work completing the game, I liked the art and sounds!
I was excited to see a chess game but I am quite confused as to what's going on. The pieces just tick through the tile and don't do much past that?
You need to wait them to be on the top left to move the entire squad togheter. Sorry for not making it clear :(
