Cool idea but pretty soon the player becomes an abolute god releasing flaming napalm on his enemys. Id say thats a "slight" balancing problem
By all means, a solid idea. Here are just a few suggestions, some of which I saw in the comments below already: don't let enemies spawn so close to the player either by adding a radius to block spawns or making it happen off screen, color the projectiles and the enemies using colors that stand out from the environment as its easy to just get visually confused, maybe add random objectives throughout, like destroy an object that spawns every so often to the player has a reason to leave the safer edges of the map.
Very nice concept, works fine enough, but sometimes enemies spawning very close to player. Music is annoying after some time) Sniper + flamethrower is overpowered
I like it. The art was nice, the music was pleasant, and the gameplay was enjoyable. I would suggest making the enemies be able to pick up the same items as the player, instead of different items. That would introduce competition for resources between them, and give the player a reason to continue trying to pick up items even after they've collected a virtually limitless supply of ammo. The flamethrower weapon could also use a rework of some kind. As is it is by far the most powerful weapon in the game, and also obscures a lot of vision.
while the music loop didn't fit the theme of the game and the connection to the jam's theme can be kinda loose, it's a fun top-down wave-based shooter with some neat power-ups that made me think about timing my shots in order to not waste ammo.
