im ass at this game so i barely could play it but it looks interesting!
I loved the characters and spritework! The dark part of the game looks, well, dark, but still super cute and pleasing to look at. I also thought having two different "sides" of the game, one where you collect lives and the other where you use them, is super smart! I'd love to see this more developed in the future.
I did have a lot of trouble with dark's fast movement speed, making precise platforming a bit difficult.
I was unable to get past that infamous spike jump, so I will rate fairly considering I didn't complete the game.
cute character!!
This looks so good, the sprite work is really impressive! Congrats!
I really enjoyed the art style and music! it was all very visually pleasing. I also really liked the mechanic of having light help gain lives back for dark. However i felt the gameplay for dark was waaaaay too challenging for the average person. i took me a long time of trial and error to beat the first arrow and i eventually got stuck and too frustrated with trying to jump across the spike gap. maybe warm the player up to these challenges before the abrupt difficulty spike. all around though it was fun and i could see myself playing this for hours :)
Thank you for your feedback! If I may ask a question, could you dodge the arrow trap by running inside its range and then running the opposite way? Or did one trap fire multiple times? I'm asking this because it only fires once for me, but one playtester claimed it kept on shooting multiple times. Also, the first spike gap should be dashed across. I put this in the description, but it's painfully missing from the game itself.
It only fired once but to react to it was lightning quick. no warning when it would fire too. I dodged it by tip toeing as close as possible then dashing away
Okay, cool. I'll pay attention to have all traps have a warning next time. Thank you.
What went through your mind when implementing all of these pixel perfect jumps when you have a character that moves at mach 1? I'd rather peel my own skin off than play this game again. 3/5
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, most jumps are really precise (although to call them pixel perfect is a bit of a stretch I think). The trick is to take a step back before making the jumps, then lightly tap the direction key, then you'll land just fine. One thing I didn't have time to finish was that on the first dash jump above the spikes, it seems as if you have to jump between the spikes and not over them, but that is not the case.
Loved the art style and the concept that one side rewarded the other with lives, Couldnt get past that first arrow however, :S great work though! :)
The mechanic where you get your lives back is really original. Great one.
Really like the game design and getting back the lives but will say very hard!
