The boss has created an energy field which saps health for power. The less health he has, the more power he has and same with you, so your stats are joined together as you damage each other increasingly.

The idea is very nice but there is only one level sadly:(
I got hit 2 times, then killed the boss so fast the explosion animation was delayed by a mile. So I think this game is to easy. Cool concept, but I want to see more with this.
Thanks for trying it, unfortunately I did the opposite of what u should do during a jam and left the gameplay and balancing to the last second :(
Nice game. I like the mechanics, but in my opinion, this game could be harder.
