Yep, as most have pointed out here, can't run the .exe just by itself! :(
Would be keen to see what your game looks like once uploads are unlocked again!
Oh no! that blows, man, I'm sorry. As others have pointed out, unity games only work on itch if you've zipped up the entire thing, not just the exe. I hope you're able to get your full game up once submissions are unlocked, because it looks cool!
To upload your game to itch.io, you need create one zip file for all the files unity exports (builds).

I am sorry to tell you that you have to upload the whole game files, not just the exe. I can not run the game.
