A bit short, and also quite chaotic, can't say I had too much fun. The enemies were pretty aggressive, and I'm used to reloading being automatic the games that have it, both proved to frustrate me a bit. The shooting being linked to the walls had some potential though, I would've liked to see that expanded on.
Hm. I think trying to give shooting a second purpose is not really working here. You shoot the enemies and if you were unlucky you have to shoot once again after that, to "up" the walls. If you get even more unlucky, you have to reload to "up" the walls, but that triggers enemy spawning once again. When playing, i didnt really get into the flow, because i had the feeling the game was holding me back every now and then.
What i like is the hook mechanic and generally, connecting shots to world events seems like an idea that could work well. Maybe if you wouldnt have to reload, but the enemys spawn every 10 Shots and you have only lets say 50 shots for one level. So you really have to manage your ammunition but dont get "hold back" by reloading or enemies spawning without any alternative.
I loved how the joining mechanic affected pacing, forcing me to come up with a plan and then frantically execute. Sprites look good individually but are a little loud all together. I would happily play more of this.
The game is pretty neat, the music is subtle but adds to the charm, the visuals also while simple do their job, especially the little blob he got some personality making him cute.
the only major problem is that I believe the puzzle aspect of the game, in the matter of level design, wasn't fully thought through, I did understand how each level should work more or less, I finished the game after all, but I never felt like what I was doing was right, the solutions gave me the feeling that I was sort of brute forcing through the game, shooting and ignoring the enemies, sometimes tanking damage just to get to the level end.
