This is a pretty unique take on the theme. Unfortunately, I can't really tell what the gameplay hook here is. It seems optimal to just take "best" everything when you can? The themed pieces didn't seem to connect to the requested genre being made.

Great spritework and cool idea though. Well done on creating this!

Hi, thanks for playing!

Actually just taking "best" everything will most probably net you a "not failed" project, but if you want to hit high scores you have to figure out what features best fit the given theme. Since the game at this jam-state provides little feedback - it also does not punish you in any way,  so crank your imagination and try to find features that fit better. :)

From the point where I read your description this was certainly the weirdest Idea I've seen so far. And I mean that in a really good way. Full marks for originality. I don't feel like there is enough game there yet to really feel like, well, a game, but the idea is really intriguing and I'd be very interested to see this taken further.

Thanks a lot for the comment!

Yeah, that is the case, we thought up a concept that required quite a sizeable amount of work (with the procedural letters and all that), and it seems it turned out fun but we haven't had any time left to add a proper progression and goal to it.

We have more ideas for the money system like different publishers liking different features, getting paid per milestone, and some others, but we didn't have time left to implement them. Even the Boost buttons are obviously a last-minute addition to provide some way to spend money.  :D

So right now having more money just makes it easier to try out more feature combinations.

I feel like you made a lot of great systems, and this was a cool way of interpreting the theme but in the end you have such limited control over the game that it's more like you just blow your cash and watch the game run if you are interested enough (which I wasn't). It kept saying my game was empty so maybe I didn't catch something I was supposed to do. Even just figuring out how to upgrade took me a while because there's no highlight on the characters or where to click. Very confusing play experience but I think this is a cool concept that could be fleshed out to something great :D

Hi, thanks for playing!

Yes, the Boost button was an afterthought and not very good at that, we didn't have any time left to polish its visuals. :(

You say it kept saying that your game was empty - just in case, did you figure out that you need to put features on the whiteboard, or did we miss that it is not obvious enough? Please share your experience. :)
