Very nice idea and quite fun!
I love the fact the character slows down when it has less power stored. I found I generally wait until the last second to zap the slimes, because otherwise they are too far to pick up the power they drop, which made things a bit difficult.
Maybe the auto-pickup could work regardless of distance, but the lesser power you have stored, the slower the power pickups come to you (which would still create the incentive to move away from the tower).
I think there's something there that you could really expand on with some tweaking and more bricks, like having multiple towers, recharge towers (towers that recharge the player, or other towers), AoE damage, etc. Same with the slimes, you could have slimes that discharge power from you/towers, slimes that deal more damage if they are more charged, etc.
Really keen to see more of this!
Thank you a lot for the kind feedback! I am really glad you liked the game and see potential in it! Getting more towers into the game was scrapped during the jam, but if I work on the game after the voting period it is definitely considerable, as well as the diversity in slimes!
ok... not going to lie. took me longer than i care to admit to know how to attack. lol loved the art. those colours work so well in this game.
Yeah I was on stream while you were playing xdd But yeah, it's mostly because of the lack of a tutorial... Thanks for the compliment and thanks for playing!
Very interesting idea, took me a few failures to get what I was actually supposed to do. With some better conveyance, and changeups to the gameplay this could be really cool.
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it!
Good game with a unique idea! I love the artstyle! The only thing it needs a better tutorial and some sound, but otherwise a great game!
Thaks a lot! Will keep those in mind if I continue working on the game!
Great game concept! Both the mechanics and graphics are amazing, but try to add more advanced tutorial at the start. I hope you'll keep developing this game due to its great potential. Good job!
Thank you a lot for the compliments and the suggestion! If I do keep working on the game some more I will definitely make a tutorial!
The 8-bit artstyle was fantastically simple and elegant! The main mechanic was also very cool but It wasn't completely obvious initially. Well done!
Thanks a lot! I wanted to try out making simpler style pixel art so that I have more time to focus on the game mechanics, which worked out great. I know the design isn't too intuitive atm, if I get to work on the game some more, I'll see how I can fit in a tutorial. Thanks again for the feedback!
super creative mechanic well done! if you plan to continue with the development i would suggest put some kind of goal or score.
Thanks for the kind words! I did plan to make a scoring system, but time ran out sooner than I though it would, so yeah...
The main mechanic wasn't super clear initially (left click slimes *only* when you are charging the tesla coil...) I think forcing the player to balance their energy and protecting the tesla coil was neat, but quite difficult and there didn't seem to be an end goal. Good attempt overall though!
Thanks a lot! I was experimenting with giving the player more reasons to be in the tesla, but I guess it wasn't that intuitive...
The mechanic is very interesting and engaging, I died a few times before getting it but then it felt like a very good idea, well done ;)
Thanks a lot! I didn't have enough time to make a tutorial, but I'm glad you got the hang of it :D
Thanks a lot! Glad you like it!
