The game was hard, although when I started using traps it became quite simple. I can imagine new features like:

  • Faster sprint ability
  • Weapon for the guy
  • Fake footsteps
  • Lure the guy

But I undestand we had limited time and what you managed to pool off is quite good game. I like the slight details like headbob or actual settings menu. Good game.

Really nice atmosphere, good thing there's options in main menu. It feels good to be a monster and chase down that helpless human.

Now let's move on to bad things I have to say:

Traps don't always work, Alex didn't spawn once, magic spell is too slow, cooldown for placing traps is not visible, Alex is too hard to catch almost impossible since it takes some time holding RMB to catch him.

Turning of the lights reminds me of Nocturne's "Paranoia" from League of Legends, would be awesome if there was a sound effect and you could see trough darkness.

Anyways great job, you managed to execute the idea in a good way just needs a lot of polish but this is a game jam so there's no time for it in 48 hours.

P.S. I did find that Game Jam logo in there.

Thanks for your review! I know about the problems with catching Alex, but it is possible to catch him

Good idea but the mechanics don't really work. Traps having a weird cooldown, Alex walking through traps or walking into traps but sliding through them. I did not find the slow working although turning off the lights slowed Alex down.

The presentation is great though. If expanded upon this kinda game is definitely fun.

Thanks for your review! Traps really don't work very well, but it's possible to use them

I liked the fact you could see how close to escaping the victim was but I was just not very good at following or listening where he was. Good job though in the game jam!

Thanks for your review! XD

Capybara! Really cool game, the traps mechanic is really good as its lets you plan out some strategy, though there were a few times were he seemed to dance passed them majestically.

Cool atmosphere :)
I like the projectile the monster can shoot. Cool that the particles implode if the projectile hits a wall (or gets close to it?)
I found it a little hard to understand what I am supposed to do though.
That being said, any game with a capybara in it is an instant 10/10
