I had a lot of fun with this, even if the visuals are cobbled together haha! I think with more time spent on the UI and art and actual path finding (as previously mentioned) this could be a lot of fun! I would also suggest slowly introducing the elements -- mainly I just played around with the light, wasd, music and rocks I found the other things I didn't know how to use or didn't work? Maybe I didn't get far enough to use them? Either way this is a fun take, the animatic at the beginning with the visual gags were pretty funny -- the 99999 going off the screen got a chuckle out of me :D
Thanks :D
All of the elements are supposed to work but they are not perfect since the player is basically acting as a magnet haha
Lamp: attracts the player
Scary Sound: repulse the player
Health: attracts the player, despawns when touched and restore health (health mechanic is not very obvious I think)
Rocks: block paths
Scary / Happy music changes how scared the player is, it has some weird additional conditions (e.g. happy music + monster seeking is supposed to be not scary)
The light thing basically just affects the fear, which makes the game bearable in its state since you can just tweak it to keep the player not too scared haha
I would’ve loved to make the resources limited and make the pace a bit slower maybe.
With a lot more time I would love to turn it into a turn by turn puzzle game :P
Its a good game, but the fonts made me feel embarrassed.
This is a good submission; however, it was difficult to know how to solve these levels since you have to deal with so many mechanics at once. Also, the player's pathfinding was getting stuck in a few places, but otherwise, great job!
Thanks! The game does not have a real path finding which is why it’s so bad ahah, the player is attracted to the exit / items and pushed away from obstacles. I definitely think it would have been better with true path finding but I ran out of time!
