The gameplay is enjoyable once you learn the ropes.
2D background with 3D characters work's well here.
Jump should be on 'W', if up is not for looking up with the character - it should by jump. So many people place jumping on 'Space' in 2D games when it should be on up, up is jump. At least add it to 'W' as well as 'Space' since you don't have time to implement keybinding (this is a game jam).
Would have been better if there was some music and better sound effects, these current ones sound glitchy.
For some reason, I was not able to lose, so I kept playing for a while and got 12100 Points. I found even a “double jump” because when you got hit by enemy you can still jump. The game was fun and charging into things was good, so congratulations!
Yeah, we added a 'tech' like mechanic towards so that you could have some influence on where you landed after being damaged. But it also cancels the death animation, so as long as you do it you can never actually die...
I got a score of 4400 since I only played two rounds, but i gotta say those two rounds were great.

I kept having enemies jump into the game right on top of me at the start. Other than that, a pretty fun game that felt nice when I was able to build up enough momentum!
Yeah, I know, we ran out of time before we could anything better than the simplistic spawning system there, but it would have been one of the very next things to handle.
The art is really great! I don't know how, but when I was playing for the first time, I couldn't die for some reason, but next time it worked
I really enjoyed building up momentum running in a single direction and using it to chain enemies, I wonder if a combo system would suit the game well? Either way, I had plenty of fun :)
There actually is a combo system in place, though it's very much not obvious. You get more on more points for each enemy you kill on the same 'run'. I was imagining a mario style point number pop-up but, well, it's a jam.

the sprint is pretty epic and the art is really good for 48h.
I like the art in the game! The sluggish movement building into a sprint is very satisfying when you're blasting enemies.
