Cool concept, once in a while is nice to be the chaos itself :D

Interesting concept! I'm glad to be able to become RNGesus ahaha! With some more polishing this will be great to come back to!

Interesting and definitely a unique concept. But because of the screen going black, this game isn't very fun to play . . . or much of a videogame overall

This same concept could be done while still seeing what the game actually looks like. Otherwise this is just a text-based Commodore64 game, and I think we have evolved past those days long ago ~

I agree with you, I should remove that black screen. I originally went to do that because my initial idea was something like player enters numbers and he has no idea what he really enters, and he has to deduce by rng he enters(But that idea doesn't make sense anymore because of the way it evolved). Wish I could see bad parts of the idea and reconsider them during the jam, haha.

So a great idea with just a confusing execution, I get it now. You could really benefit from a professional game-designer's second opinion in cases like these

Innovation and cool concepts are great, but your ideas must never become style-over-substance. A game must still be fun to play, no matter how nonsensical, unimaginative etc. that would make everything else

Great ideas require great execution to work, and that is a game-developers and designer's eternal balancing-act

I think the idea is excellent, especially for the time given. Unfortunately I couldnt make it past level 2, the third set of spikes says it deals 3 poison damage but i think it only ever dealt 37 poison damage so either im missing something or its just too hard.

However, again, excellent idea, I like the little monster explaining you are RNG god, and the little description boxes are interesting. its a great little puzzle game with a lot of potential!

Developer

Oh right, I probably forgot to change the description for that spike, because I wrote them manually. Also, thanks a lot for the review!

I like the idea of being the random number generator, and if I understood the concept, inspect the level, remember what you should type in and play? But I think it would be worth making that objective clear.

If you can find the time, would you please check out our game as well?

Our twist of the theme is that a critic tries to play your unfinished game, and you fight from inside the computer to make him like it. Hope you'll like it!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, you are pretty correct at everything, I really had to make that objective clear. Also wanted to add an item pool, that would adjust the  complexity of the game, but it is what it is.  Also checked your game,  fun game with cool voice acting , I liked it, even though it had few bugs(not being able to place blocks at times and the one you mentioned in known bugs).

You did your best considering this is a jam, so good efforts!! Thank you for rating our game back <3

Amazing idea of play as Random itself!
