I like the look of it, but unfortunately, the game feels rather slow movement-wise and the regular green lizards appear very far away. So I have to slowly walk all the way to them and kill them when they spawn. I noticed that the spacebar was bound it death too. I am guessing that was done by the dev during playtesting and forgotten. I can see that it was submitted 21 hours before the final call, so I am a little surprised that the issue was never discovered. Anyway, I must say that the visuals are attractive and the idea of a hellish city that burns as a godzilla-like creature roams is quite a good setting. I hope the devs improve and polish this game further as I would like to play it again in the full glory that it was probably intended to be.

I did submit the game well before time was up, but that was simply to make sure it was submitted in time as there are sometimes issues at the last minute due to the load on the site. I was still able to, and did update the game as much as I could 'till the deadline was up (I didn't take off from my day job, so I didn't have a lot of time on Monday and especially Tuesday).

Your assessment about death being bound to the spacebar is correct. I originally was going to allow for a jump, but realized it didn't really have any point. Then when I needed to test the death mechanic, I bound it to the jump button and just totally forgot I did that until it was too late.

I appreciate your feedback. I am considering continuing to update the game, though it would probably be in a new project as I want to keep this one, and all its flaws, for the sake of documenting my history and progress.

Thank you so much for playing!

I like nightmarish look of it, the fire on a horizon, phototextured soviet-ish buildings everywhere. When you find little lizards it is fun to punch them and get bigger. Also it is nice touch that you can stomp them when you're big enough.
At first it is hard to find little lizards, but when you get bigger it becomes easier.
Unfortunatly I was unable to deal damage to biggest lizard.
Some sound would be nice, because game is totally silent.

Developer

I am disappointed that I ran out of time to implement sounds, as well as fix the bug preventing you from fighting the giant lizard, among many other things. I am glad that you enjoyed the aesthetic. It was one of the things I worked on a lot.

Thank you for playing and for giving feedback!

Unfortunately, during all my playtime I failed to spot any small monsters I could kill (or even interact with). I also found that pressing space kills you, so I had to stop pressing it afterwards. Maybe I searched for monsters in the wrong places?

Developer

I had bound death to spacebar for testing purposes, and apparently forgot to remove that. The small monsters spawn in random spots every 15 seconds. Not sure why you weren't able to find them. But thank you for playing!

Okay, I replayed it, now taking time to afk a bit before starting and letting some monsters spawn, and now it feels more complete. I love how at some point I become so huge I just start stomping these little guys ;~;

Overall, nice idea, I would've liked if there were some amount of monsters spawned around the player at the start of the game, so I wouldn't have to wait.
