Very cool idea and very well done! I really like the concept and I think with more concept, this could be a very nice little game.
I have one small caveat: I personally felt like the A/D buttons should be switched, D for faster time and A for slower, but that might be super subjective :D
Nice work!
I hadn't thought about that but maybe you're right, I'll do some tests on that! Thanks for the feedback! :D
Very creative concept! Albeit short and there are probably more different types of obstacles you could've made to take advantage of a really solid base, this was still really intriguing and impressive that this was done solo. When my team was brainstorming I initially suggested a different idea about time where maybe you changed the timescale of specific objects lol (Ie growing a tree super fast to use it as a platform), I definitely wouldn't have expected a puzzle like the ending though. Reversing yourself back up the slope to insert the key- that was a super sick feeling. And the platforming itself felt good as well so good work!!
Thanks haha, there really should be more obstacles, but oh well, maybe I can add some new ones in a future update when the Jam is over. As for the final puzzle of rewinding time to get out of the hole where you got the key, I'm glad that several people liked it. When I was designing it, I was actually afraid that people wouldn't understand how to "solve" it, but it seems that almost everyone has understood it.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback :D
Very creative game. Awesome use of simplicity for great graphics too. The game got a little too complicated too fast for me (but that is me an old school gamer).
I can see where you were going fantastic concept.
Thanks a lot bro, I've actually noticed that the way you change the time scale is a bit complicated and confusing and I already have plans to make it simpler and more intuitive but that will have to be when the Jam is over. Thanks for the comment :3
I was able to complete the game! It took several attempts, and I sometimes adjusted the time in the wrong direction, which I think is part of the challenge of the game. Gameplay was smooth, and the graphics are simple but clean and enjoyable. I didn’t read all the comments until after I had played, and I won’t spoil the ending for others except to say that you do have to control time to win. I think the concept is solid enough that it could be built out into a much longer game with a mix of short and long levels. Levels with more puzzle aspects would make it a compelling game.
OMG Thanks a lot, I have to say the thing I regret the most is that when you increase or decrease the time beyond the maximum, your current time scale goes to the opposite maximum, since more than making everything more comfortable it makes everything more confusing but I have plans to fix it in an update. I still don't know if I should make a full game about this mini game but I do plan on improving it by adding music, some tweaks and making the level a bit bigger when the Jam is over and with that I think it will be a nice little game. :D
Got really interested in the time mechanic and the platforming felt really smooth. Good work!
Thanks a lot bro! :D
Ok I went head on at first and didn't understood the assignement. After reading others comments I took another go and omg it was a blast! really cool idea! well implemented! I haven't finished the level but I loved playing and trying to wrap my head around the time mechanic! The indications like the warning sign is a great way to guide people along the first part of the level and the difficulty level scales smoothly across the game. Love it!
The only thing I could say is the tutorial part. Maybe smaller text, with less contrast on the screen and more room around to breath would have made it easier to read. Game wise, nothing to say, you made it perfectly =D
Thank you very much!!! You are quite right about the text, I will try to improve it in an update when the Jam is over. Cheers!
Had a total blast playing this game! Really cool style and an interesting mechanic to navigate the level. Only feedback would including a soundtrack because this game absolutely deserves one!
Brilliant work, I had a lot of fun :D
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you liked it. It's totally true that it needs some music but I didn't have time to add it because time was running out, if I can in an update I'll compose a music track for the level :D
the idea of using the time scale kinda like an "undo" is pretty interesting. i could see some cool puzzles where you jump off a ledge and then rewind yourself back up to get some objects or something. neat idea.
Thank you very much for the comment. As for the rewind happens exactly that in the final part! In this one you have to jump into a pit to get a key and using the rewind you can get out of the pit to return to the door you saw before. But yeah it could be more used, thanks for the feedback! :D
