Really cool and well done idea, I think with a quick tutorial explaining what the gauge are for could help. I loved how the result of the fishing is presented, funny moment.
I could easily imagine a update adding a spooky theme to the DA like the game Dredge.
Good job !
Cool 3D art! I think I had to harpoon the larger fish twice to actually catch them? Not sure if that is intentional or not. Moving around was a little disorienting without some frame of reference like bubbles or something (though, maybe that’s the intention with deep sea exploration??) Neat idea!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! The harpoon mechanic turned out a quite glitchy in the end, but the only difficulty with catching them is that your line breaks quicker. There may have been some hit detection issues; I'm not sure why you had to harpoon them twice
As you dive deeper, the only frames of reference are the oil rigs in the background and the depth gauge. Working in that scene for so long, I think I got a good sense of where I was quite easily, but I can see how it was disorienting. Regardless, I hope it didn't interfere with the core gameplay.
First underwater concept I've seen. Nice job
Dave the diver inspiration ?
Neither of us have actually ever heard of that game, but I see what you mean haha. The gameplay looks pretty similar and like a lot of fun!
uhh actually I have heard of it but I didn't have it in mind when working on this game. It's on my list of games to check out but have to get through my backlog first ;)
Didn't get how it worked exactly. but the art is cool
Unique fishing game, loved how big the fish got as you got deeper. For the future, please turn down the default volume! Everyone's ears will thank you! :D
That's nice ! It was a bit hard to understand the reeling mechanic, otherwise I had a blast.
