Great art style, fun controls

Developer

Thank you so much!

love the feedback on the shooting! i think it would be better to use mouse to aim! great job!

Developer

Thank you! Yes mouse controls were something we considered but too late into development.

Cool idea! Using the size scaling as a manual tool to avoid damage or deal more damage is really clever! I personally would have switched Q and W for scaling, for me scaling being the right button instead of the left one feels more natural, but that's subjective!
Other than that, really cool game, I enjoyed it :)

Developer

Funny you mention it, we had that discussion amongst ourselves! Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for taking the time to comment!

Great game ! The art is good, so is the gameplay ! I like the concept of shooting and scaling yourself up and down, keep up the good work :)

Thank you so much!

Well done gameplay and visuals! I especially like difficulty scaling - so much is going on with after awhile, it's becoming really challenging and entertaining.

Developer

Thanks a lot! We're happy you enjoyed it so much!

Really polished and a nice game.

I was super impressed with how visually readable the game is. Even when it got hectic I always knew what to do, and I liked that. I think your implementation of the theme was really effective and forced me as the player to make good.

I am not sure I have much in the name of feedback this was super solid, consistent, and enjoyable. Well done.

Developer

Such kind words... We can't thank you enough!

The ship looks amazing especially in final stage! I wish we could move with WASD, shoot with mouse and use like Q and E to get small & big. Overall great game!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes controls were a long debate subject amongst us, we will keep that in mind for the future thank you!

A great game! Seriously well polished! Love the concept and the trade off decision making! Well done! 😄

Thanks for playing. We are glad that you enjoyed it!

I had a lot of fun with this. The dexterity challenge of navigating, shooting, and shrinking/growing is really enjoyable. Smart use of gates to keep the player switch between large and small. I could see it being expaneded further with size specific threats like enemies that only target you if you grow to a large enough threat. Great work!

Developer

That's an interesting idea! Thank you for your kind words, I'm happy you enjoyed your time with it!

Super fun to rapidly scale up then shrink down to squeeze between the lasers or enemy projectiles. Love the art style too!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The overall presentation is very well done! The direction of the music was unusual for this kind of game but it really sold the feeling of drifting through space. The sound effects worked well too, I particularly like the detail of harmonising the ship's shots with the music. The sprite work and animation of the shots/explosions were really nice, almost wish the camera were closer to appreciate it more! Nice sense of impact when landing shots too, but I feel taking damage was a bit lacking, maybe it just needs the damage flash that enemies have.

The trade-off between firepower and size/handling was a great interpretation of the theme for an arcade shooter! It clicked once I realised the point was to shrink to avoid any danger, not just the laser gates. I think the controls work fine (apart from a bug where you can't turn left while moving forward), but the issue for me is that the ship doesn't feel like it has enough momentum in its movement and turning. I think this would help make aiming feel less finicky and just add some heft.

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and for your very helpful feedback! We plan to make some adjustments when the voting ends. And I agree with the art too. Our artist worked non-stop to make the vision happen, and he exceeded our expectations. Thanks again for playing!

Really fun take on the theme, took a while to get used to the controls but everything felt really good

Really fun game! was a little hard to get into and get used to the controls but once i did, constantly changing sizes to switch between kill mode and RUN mode I had a lot of fun

The art, music, sound effects and overall polish of the game are really satisfying and a leaderboard is something i definitely didn't expect in a gamejam!

Really nice arcade feel, the enemy variety was super cool! I wonder if there is a way to make it so that your ship rotates at a slower velocity for more precision? I really loved the feel of the momentum.

Developer

Oooh that could be a very good idea interesting... Thanks for taking the time to play our game, and leave a comment!

enjoyed the gameplay but the web version prevents you from starting the game again after death. i honestly love the soundtrack and sound design the game has and as others have noted, the controls can be a bit wonky but otherwise really liked it :)

Developer

Oh no, thank you for the bug report! We'll try to work on that once we can! I'm glad you still were able to enjoy thank you so much!

Hi great game, love the art, and it is nice that some enemies are forcing you to scale down. Controls have been for me little hart to get used to it - I would prefer WASD + mouse with mouse wheel to scale, but that is my preference :) Anyway great game!!

Developer

Thank you so much! We had considered late in dev to change the controls, but it demanded too much rework to be able to fix that in the time constraints. I'm happy you still managed to enjoy it, and thank you again for taking the time to give us feedback!

Incredible game! The art style is really good, and the sound design really enhances the experience. The controls took a bit to get used to, but they added an interesting layer of challenge. Overall, a fantastic game!

Nice idea to fit this year's theme, combining the micro and macro scales
