This is a really great twist on breakout!

The fact that you made actual strategy and risk/reward mechanics work with a really simple game is beyond impressive. The debuff/anti-powerup items were also a nice touch.

The only things I'll note are that the ball and blocks could get a bit buggy around weird shapes in the board, and the game probably could have been a bit more visually distinct (don't get me wrong, the visuals look fine, and are perfectly good for a short game, but they don't really pop in a unique way).

But those are the only criticisms I have, this game is fantastic!

Agree with both of your critiques, if we keep working on this after the jam there's were a lot of weird block interactions we weren't able to account for that we want to clean up. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for taking the time to play!

Unfortunately was a slideshow for somereason for me and couldn't play so gave full 3's

That's unfortunate, we moved to godot 4.3 which has so far worked pretty well in web. If you're interested, we could do some troubleshooting but if not thanks for trying!

You could try turning on hardware acceleration on whatever browser you are using, it helped some people with similar issues. I'm not sure about Firefox but in chromium based browsers like Edge, Chrome, and Brave the setting is "Use graphics acceleration when available".

Neat idea! Always cool to see a twist on an old classic.
