Nice little game! I couldn't finish it cuz I didn't understand how to use the statue's potion :'( And I didn't understand that the text boxes were proportionnal to the choice's impact on the game, which doesn't change much!
But the story was fun, and I loved finding so much different ways to die !
Interesting idea but the implementation is puzzling. Since most of the choices lead to either death or progression, text box scaling doesn't interact with the "try every option until you win" design.
couldn't quite beat it, felt like I was holding a key without a door to open when I was deemed worthy. but i do love games where the path to victory is always there and the key is knowledge, that part sucked me in
Neat idea to make an HTML game, and the concept is an interesting take on the theme. The choices all felt fully arbitrary and not necessarily like I was actually making any meaningful progression through a story, though, and also I noticed the link colors haven't been tweaked so I can actually check which of the, say, 12(!) choices were the ones that would railroad me to once again getting stuck in the forest without moving.
The secrets were fun to uncover! Loved this, hope to see a longer and more fully fledged version of something like this at some point.
This was fun!
Thats interesting, didnt expect to see a full HTML game! Pretty cool!
A solid implementation of the theme and some fun writing. But most of the choices feel pretty arbitrary, leading to a lot of guess and check gameplay. I would have wanted to see less needing to restart, and more seeing how the choices impact the story direction in the long-term.
But overall, a great little choose-your-own adventure game!
As a man whose legs are blind and cannot move in the forest, this is relateable.
